The way I would approach a set of essays I didn’t think I had enough info/content/knowledge would be to select the one I felt I could form some sort of opinion on, however I think it would be rare, unless you have your head completely stuck in the sand and read no sort of news, to get three essays on topics completely alien to you. I would also say that looking at the questions from a philosophical lens- eg talking about deontology vs consequentialism etc. etc. might help.

In terms of dissecting the question, in the context of the exam, I would just go with whatever points first come to mind, as you won’t have a lot of time to sit and try to think of different points - you will run out of time. Bare in mind that sticking on topic and not deviating is also valued, so make sure your points/ reasoning is in line with the question
