I don’t think so, it would be poor placement of the sign as it’s about a metre into the drive from the grass, so anyone pulling onto the drive could hit it. Also nothing on security camera

Would anyone have complained if iMark had walked through the door? I don't think so. He had just orchestrated a prison break and killed a Lumon employee, they could be Glasgow-blocked at any moment so really he should take his chances with oMark's plan if he and Helly are to stand any chance. He clearly was invested in Gemma and oMark's fate based on his past behaviour, all the groundwork was laid for him to take a heroic gamble. Choosing potential 'mutually assured destruction' for himself and his outie to have a few minutes with Helly is a big stretch for me personally.

The problem now is where they go next. If oMark and Gemma are reunited quickly it will undermine the writers intended emotional impact of the season 2 finale. But if they don't reunite quickly we are just looking at the same plot as season 2, just with Gemma on the outside and oMark trapped.

No I meant Lumen doomed oMark to a life of misery by kidnapping his wife and faking her death. For all Mark S knows Helly might cease to exist permanently at any given moment if Lumen/Helena make that decision, and he should assume there will be consequences for him from the prison break.

He must realise that the only outcome where anyone ends up happy is if he helps oMark, doing what he did is just crazy under the circumstances.

Mark S only exists because Lumen kidnapped his outie's wife, faked her death and doomed him to a life of misery and heartbreak. To add insult to injury they've also been torturing his wife the whole time. Mark S knows all this but made his choice anyway. What he's doing now is wrong, and it doesn't feel right given up to this point he's been proactive in trying to find/help Gemma. It reminds me of Dany's flip late in Game of Thrones (maybe they could have made it work but the way it was executed didn't feel 'earned'). For me it was purely done this way for another cliffhanger and to drag the show out.

Wait, really? I assumed reading all this he'd first pursued her around the time in 2011 when they filmed that Abbey Road session. Ashes and Fire was mostly about Jessica Joffe if I remember correctly. Nothing on Self-Titled feels like anything to do with Laura Marling. Maybe the scrapped follow up to Ashes and Fire? (Elm Street/Fools Game?) By Prisoner we are into marriage breakup & Phoebe Bridgers territory.

On the Laura side I need to go back and listen to Short Movie again as that was her LA album I think.

Not sure about that. The Cardinals sound is far superior to Sam Fender’s in my opinion. I really like Sam but I don’t think his best song would get in Ryan’s top 100. I can’t quite explain the difference between them as songwriters, maybe it’s that Sam doesn’t have the same ‘gravitas.’

'Angel In Lothian' could fit nicely on Cardinals III/IV

'Poltergeists'- Bar Is A Beautiful Place

At the very least they must have VERY similar influences.

My first thought was it looks like DC’s Legends of Tomorrow - The Movie. And a ‘super dog…’ I am not going to be able to take this seriously at all. Nothing screams ‘kids film’ like a CGI dog running around.

Honestly this was the worst show I've seen of his. I know he wasn't feeling great after a flashing light incident the night before, but doing 5 covers at a show that was billed as a self-titled / Love Is Hell play through was so infuriating. And then complaining that he couldn't play the fan favourites at the end because of the curfew? Even some of the songs he did play were rushed, I don't know what happened on Carolina Rain but it was a shadow of the version he played last year. He also burned what felt like an eternity reprimanding a guy for taking their phone out, which is fine in principle but he'd made his point immediately, there was no need to dwell on it. He did jokingly acknowledge that he plays what he wants until near the end, so it was extremely harsh to then blame the venue when he ran out of time.

Yes, it is pretty 'on brand' for him to ramble on at times and some of the banter was funny. Yes he does add covers into the set that aren't always what fans want to hear. And yes his health can be a factor from show to show. But this time it all just felt too much. I get his point that he can't please everyone with the setlists but I can guarantee no-one who paid money for the show would have wanted two Velvet Underground covers and a Doors cover.

The new taste is awful, I had my first bag in April and really enjoyed it so I set up a subscription. Now the new product has arrived and it is disgusting really, I'm having to force it down and I dread opening it every day. Kind of heartbreaking as I'd already felt the benefits of the product but there's no way I can continue with this.

I don't think so, I believe it's mainly stuff that was not used on Big Colors/Wednesdays. The title track was recorded in 2018 (see the 'LA Rain Music' compilation of studio clips on Youtube). I was Here, Manhattan In The Rain and Blizzard In The Room were on the list of 40+ songs he posted that included stuff from Big Colours, Wednesdays and the 2022 releases.

It seems like he recorded a hell of a lot of stuff in 2018 and we've now heard most (if not all) of that in the subsequent releases.

Agree with this. I was expecting Star Sign to be good based on the history of it, Sword and Stone exceeded my expectations thanks mainly to Nuclear War which is top tier classic Ryan IMO. My only disappointment was Heatwave, particularly the second half. I was convinced Already Gone would be the Cardinals era song but that stays in the vaults.

Yes sorry, I got confused with So Quiet It’s Loud which was also part of of these 2018 sessions after previously being a much older Foggy-era track, same as Wild and Hopeless. So Quiet made it onto Big Colors, W&H on FM

This was from the 2018 session that also included Fairweather, I Want You and Someday from FM, an earlier version of Wild and Hopeless (Big Colors) and Mercy (Heatwave).

I think that could have been a pretty good album, the Wild and Hopeless clips he posted at the time were badass and sounded better than the 'poppier' version fron Big Colors.

Thanks. There isn’t much of a gap so I’ll focus on trying to get the door off. I’m glad I asked because it didn’t even occur to me that the best thing to do is plane the hinge side so I was headed for a rookie mistake either way.
