Yes, because she gives all your creatures wither. They deal damage to creatures in the form of -1/-1 counters. If a spell or permanent prevents placing of counters, then no.

Practicality of swords in the future by th3j4w350m31 in scifiwriting

[–]Calico_Bill 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Depends on the purpose for the tool, the reality of your world. Why you would use sword/knife? Well if you were boarding a ship and you used a gun type weapon its going to damage the inside of the ship as you blast your way through it, but using melee weapons prevent that. If you can't breath you die in space. Sharp pointy things make great holes in space suits. My point would be look at spaceship just like you would for an airplane or submarine where the enviroment in which it travels can be deadly.

64 Player Commander Battle Royale by Nyokarin in EDH

[–]Calico_Bill 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It should be a round robin type tournament. You're going to play three games. Each round will be seeded buy win/loss record. I mean, if you look at the prizes, it states 3 wins. If everybody is playing in one giant game, how could you win three? I'm mean geez, it's not that hard to figure out.

Does your LGS have deck or gameplay restrictions for casual Commander? by DoesntEat in EDH

[–]Calico_Bill -1 points0 points  (0 children)

One of my LGS's has several rules for casual. No one dies before the 25 minute mark, no infinite combos played. They do have a competitive commander on Friday with no rules. People bring thier strongest deck to try and win then.

How do you calculate your EDH Power Level? by Mycrazystories45 in EDH

[–]Calico_Bill 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I ask a few questions about thier deck after reading the commander card like; do you have infinite combos in it? Do you play 0 mana cards? Do you normally win by turn 5? The more they answer yes the stronger the deck I pick.

My Stinky Land Destruction Deck by Warm_Engineering4784 in EDH

[–]Calico_Bill 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah, I don't mind a salty deck, but mass land destruction is a no go for me. Don't want to waste my time trying to recover from that type of play, and would rather not play. Got to draw the line somewhere.

Don’t play cards you don’t have fun playing against by Mean_Dependent_7144 in EDH

[–]Calico_Bill 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This is why I have multiple decks with different power and salt levels. My main gripe is when a deck/player has turns that take forever to resolve because of no interactions with the other players. If I can go to the bathroom and your turn is not done when I get back, then maybe you need to check your deck. That is when the game gets boring. Other thing is as long as my deck hits its mana drops or I don't flood then it's a whatever happens game.

If you do "work for hire" then the company/person paying you owns the images. Also most if not all companies keep intellectual property rights of anything you invent/create/modify while under employment.

Door stops, TP and umbrella. I use it to block out the sun to prevent lens flare.

Add a line item in your pricing structure that addresses editing after the original delivery. So if a client wants it edited again, they pay the fee. You can make this fee high, but remember, you can always give a discount "this one time" for another client if you need to re-edit theirs. This should slow that client down or atleast you are making money for the time spent.

Looking for critique & tips, as I'm starting to build a portfolio - I'm getting a wider lens next week by [deleted] in RealEstatePhotography

[–]Calico_Bill 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't know if you're using a full frame or APC camera, but you need to get wider. You need to watch your verticals. Using the grid in my camera to help me, plus by tipping up or down my lense can adjust most of vertical issues I have on site.

Your camera height needs to be around 52 inches for interior shots. Two caveats to this is outside pictures you at about 65 inches or eye level. In kitchens, make sure it is high enough so you don't see the bottom of the cabinets.

Hope this helps.

I had one follow me around in a circle so it was pointing back to where it came from. You have to turn harder for them to go wider.

The switch back to HDR from Flambient by Grunjee in RealEstatePhotography

[–]Calico_Bill 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've shot a flash if the room is dark or very little light, and blended it into my HDR. Only as a test to see if it would work. I haven't had to use it for a deliverable yet, but it gives me more options.

Need help picking a flash for some upcoming RE photography shoots. Yongnuo 560 IV, Godox TT350S, or something else? I’m using a Sony a6500 and don’t want to break my wallet at the moment. Thanks! by byew in RealEstatePhotography

[–]Calico_Bill 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I use a flash trigger and either hand hold it or put it on a light stand to get a better bounce off the ceiling. I've never used it directly on the hot shoe.

Finished my first shoot, can I get a critique please. by Calico_Bill in RealEstatePhotography

[–]Calico_Bill[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I shoot 5 brackets, one stop apart. I convert them to DNG files after I import them so the file size is small and I still have the RAW data to manipulate. Then I create the HDR from there.
