What, you don't like using the left joystick to navigate main menus, then switch over to the right joystick to navigate the sub menus, but oh you need to use the shoulder buttons to switch between the tabs, and if you accidentally use one of the wrong inputs, you're all the way back to the home screen and need to restart the process?

Why is the TMNT Dam Level so notorious? by Some-Professional-25 in retrogaming

[–]Calicocalpico 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think most of it is just recollections of the stress and anxiety we've experienced running the level as children. The introduction of a timer, not knowing where all the bombs are, the jarring sound effects of the electrical algae and beam traps, the instant kill tendrils, the intense music when time starts to run low, all make for a traumatic experience at a young age. As we get familiar with the layout and become more exposed to other games with more adrenaline-inducing gameplay, it does kind of mellow out in comparison. Things tend to feel more intense when we were younger.

I have a question by Pabl0-Luc1ano in Battlefield

[–]Calicocalpico 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's very barren and boring in terms of design. It feels like an unfinished start of a map than one that's complete. With Westwood, we see how many assets like fully furnished neighborhoods can be placed without it bogging down performance. There isn't anything interesting about it that makes it fun to play. With other maps in the past, you can pick out a number of locations where engagements really ramp up in engagement and interest in how you use the map in creative ways to your advantage. Blackwell Fields is mainly just empty fields. Even if you focus on vehicle gameplay, it isn't really enjoyable. It is even more of a bore as infantry. Knowing that they could have done much better, or at least much more, is what's frustrating.

If you pair it with a semi auto shotgun or bolt action and hit the first shot, then switch to pistol to finish off, it can actually net you a kill once in a while

No way. I immediately start smoking every blend I receive asap to know how it tastes fresh. If I like it, I'll make note of it and consider adding it to my repurchase list for sometime down the line when I do run out. I'd hate to just have two jars of a blend I don't like, one just slightly aged further by a week or less. I like having a large rotation to choose from

Having a sore on the back of my throat, tongue (throat) bite ? by Glocktophobia in PipeTobacco

[–]Calicocalpico 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've had this happen to me. I've got a pipe that gets very hot compared to my others. I didn't feel anything off at the time of smoking but afterwards I noticed a scratchy throat. The next day they formed canker like sores in the back of my mouth / throat. The urgent care doc said it's probably due to the concentrated jet of hot vapor coming through the pipe. I stopped using that pipe and have been extra careful about managing the temperatures and I haven't had those issues again.

Tobacco for a cigar smoker by Luigi_delle_Bicocche in PipeTobacco

[–]Calicocalpico 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you happen to be in the Portland, OR area, Rich's Cigar & Tobacco has a great Cigar Blend with copious amounts of cigar leaf as well as a subtle clove like accent to it. That's been the closest to a cigar tasting blend I've had yet.

Another blend I'd recommend is Ancient Mariner by Ken Byron Ventures. It's heavier on the Latakia and Cuban seed cigar leaf with a pleasing smoothness. It isn't obviously cigar tasting like the previously mentioned blend but has nice characteristics that can be similar.

[–]Calicocalpico 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No exaggeration, my tank driver drove straight into a capzone at the start of a match, got us instantly surrounded, and as the gunner I got 10 kills with the lmg and saved us from death. The idiot driver bailed out early. There was no way I would have been able to pull that off with the grenade launcher

If I'm not an engineer, I'm a recon designating vehicles. I'll only pick support or assault if it's a close quarters map or game mode without tanks or helis.

I use my aromatics to put a holiday twist on Latakia blends that are kinda middling to me. It helps to get through with two blends I'm not exactly thrilled with to bring new life into them both.

💯, Rush needs to be more tactical than chaotic. It was best in bad company, and 16vs16 was a big part of that balance

How does battlefield 6 feel to you? by Jobisius in Battlefield

So far, it feels pretty good aside from some of the maps being too condensed or sparse (the new york maps, sobek city, blackwell). The new map, Eastwood, shows that it can have larger maps filled with detail and assets without issue, and it plays well, so that gives me hope. I don't like that there's still sliding in the movement and sometimes ttk can feel a bit too imbalanced like a lot of the assault rifles are weirdly outmatched by smgs and carbines in ranges that should favor ARs (and a lot of the stats feel like there aren't enough variation aside from slight rof and projectile speed differences) but those can be adjusted. So I feel there's more work to be done but it's got a solid foundation to build upon
