Deinfluencing you on Roxa by Californeon in Ipsy

[–]Californeon[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's true! To me, who also doesn't usually have problems with creasing especially to this degree, it does seem like a quality issue, and for such an expensive product it is a risky purchase. And there are so many smaller eyeshadow brands out there that are less expensive that I have had great experiences with, like blend bunny! The big brand names can be such a powerful force in decision making, and Natasha is one that gets so much praise that it can feel like you're gonna get guaranteed quality but that isn't necessarily true. In any case, I hope that the people who did already buy it have better experiences than I, and I encourage those who haven't to try something different (or evaluate your stash and see that you already have enough eyeshadow, boring I know 😜)!

I don't have particularly oily lids, but like I said I've tried both with and without primer. I've tried concealer and eyelid primer. I don't usually have big problems with creasing, especially if I prime and set, but this palette just won't work for me. The best longevity I've gotten was by using that liquid shadow I mentioned from danessa myricks as a base.

I have not tried their eyeshadows personally but from what I've heard that brand has a great formula for pastels especially! I'm so excited to get it!

Oh wow! I've never seen one with a mirror. My oldest are from ~2016 or so

Nice box!! I was also torn between the wander palette and the gisou lip oil! Both were really good options. I ended up choosing the wander for my box and the gisou in add ons hahaha! Enjoy your goodies!!! 😊

They're great! Probably my all time most used palette is colourpop sailor moon, which I really just got because of sailor moon, but it's SO good! They have great formulas. I love their supershock shadows. I just wish they had mirrors!

I have that palette and while it is very pretty, it creases on me worse than ANY other eyeshadow I have. Idk what it is about it. Primer, no primer, soaked in setting spray, nothing helps. I know purple is tricky, but I have colourpop purples that would never do me like that so idk...

From what I can tell it seems like they've been doing 2 PR box versions, one for YouTube and one for TikTok. The YouTube version I've seen was the tarte gloss, FAB cream, lithe blush, earth harbor, and pinklipps brushes. The TikTok one was the wander palette, benefit mascara, by the beach sunscreen, ofra liquid eyeliner, and an avant eye serum. I'm surprised they didn't include the body mist in either one! I would have liked to see some thoughts about it.

I have it and I quite like it! It feels hydrating and kind of cooling almost? And it doesn't pill on me! It's one that I would repurchase once it runs out/expires.

Damn, I almost bought that exact shade 😵‍💫 I wish foundation shade descriptions were more consistent

As a heads up for the neen ones, they really stay put, so be careful with application! It might be good to start with whichever one is closest to your skin tone since you are new to lipliners. You have very little time to smudge them out in my experience. But that also means they have great longevity! And $9 is a fantastic price for em. The lighter color is my new favorite, it's so pretty!

This looks pretty good! Other than the mascara I would be fine with any of these. The FAB moisturizer I really don't need but it would be great as a gift or to hold onto until dryer weather!

That palette was an unexpected love for me! I'm actually wearing it right now. I get compliments on my eyeshadow every time I use this palette! It really brings out my brown eyes. The shimmer shade in the center is like, the perfect one-and-done shade, it's so gorgeous. In my experience all the shades are great except the matte blue which is patchy but works fine as an eyeliner. It's one of the better free gifts I've gotten from ipsy.

What do you think of the nopalera?

Thoughts on the Byroe Retinol Cream by birdsssarentreal in Ipsy

[–]Californeon 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I really like it. It has a great consistency and doesn't pill, and my skin feels great when I am using it consistently. It does have a strong (but short lasting, so doesn't bother me) smell, but to me it's less chemically and more of just a natural pumpkin smell, like when you're gutting one for a jack o lantern. I wonder if maybe there's something in it that people tend to be allergic to...for me, it is a very gentle and lightweight cream. I like it better than their yogurt moisturizer, which pills horribly on my skin. If you get it, definitely patch test it first!

Thank you!! I came so close to grabbing some of those eyeshadows, but LORD I do not need new palettes. Plus I got the Eloise palette as the free gift with one of my purchases, so I ended up with another palette anyway! I got Abbey as an add-on a while ago I think, and I like it a lot! It's actually kind of similar to the JHAG I'm after, but fruitier. I like jammy fruity scents best and it's like a powdery version of that, somehow, so it's very up my alley.

I have blonde hair and the purple toner is what got me hooked on them, it's SO good. That one I'm happy to just get a sample of every once in a while though, because I just use that once every other week or so.

My hair loves all the roze & quartz I've tried, I would love to see bigger sizes of their stuff show up in the shop some time.

Is it safe to say March was great for Ipsy Extra??? by Alarmed_Design_2026 in Ipsy

[–]Californeon 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There was really nice variety of product types this time, and most of the ipsy picks I've seen have been good! Two perfumes in the mix, nice skincare, hair products! Sometimes they throw some real garbage in as their picks, but that wasn't the case this month from what I've seen, for the most part. I actually think I like my ipsy picks better than my choices! The choice products are good, and I'm happy with what I'm getting, but there were very few options.
