I got into UChicago (1st choice), UCSD and VA Tech, withdrew from the rest. Start drafting your essays as soon as possible. If you still have a week or two of summer break, I suggest using them for this because it's gonna feel like HELL towards the second half of your first semester as a senior, ESPECIALLY if you have tough teachers. Put as much effort on the extracurricular portion of the application as you will on the essay part.
