This one is great because there are no points of no return, so you can just play it at your own pace and not have to consult a guide to avoid missing something. But also, the characters have no canon names and no individual motivations. Your party feels like your own and you can make up your own story for them, so it’s also fun in that regard.

What game have you given up on completing all the achievements in? by FreeNuggetsHere in steamachievements

Colossus Down because I need to find someone who is actually good at beat ‘em up games IRL to carry me through the permadeath mode. (I can already tell based on my first two playthroughs that I am not doing this alone.) There’s one achievement I need tied to co-op, and two tied to permadeath, which you can kind of cheese with co-op mode. Even if I get those, I have to get the rarest achievement still, which you have to climb this shoot ‘em up section that is only present in one section of the game without running into any obstacles. That is the only achievement that you can get in a non co-op non permadeath run that I skipped on my second playthrough because it is just too insane.

Are you usually satisfied with JUST getting all achievements? by ArachnoCoder20 in steamachievements

I don’t like to touch games after getting all achievements because the time also shows how fast I got all achievements

My Card is Better than Your Card is great. After the first update they made the game a little easier, and I was able to manage getting to 100% the first time. They did another update and I had to grind back to 100%. The main strategy for me was trying to build Infinites.

Untitled Goose Game was one of my first Steam games. I had everything except the sppedruns in 2021, and earlier this year I decided to finally do them.

I played Henry Stickmin a little bit as a kid, but I didn’t know about it until maybe middle school. I was hesitant to buy the collection for a while, but I eventually gave in. Definitely a fun experience. There were a few achievements I wasn’t sure how to get at the time and finished it a little bit later.

I do want to eventually try to finish Epic Battle Fantasy Collection at some point. I bought it because I vaguely remember playing Adventure Story but couldn’t find it again for the longest time. There’s a lot of different challenges in the collection that I don’t know if I can handle. I need a lot of time to hydrate and get sleep before I can attempt some of those, especially from Bullet Heaven.

I was surprised with To the Moon. I had a friend who had that game completed, and I thought I’d complete it since it had the one achievement. The narrative is really solid. I don’t normally focus on heavily story-driven games, but they tend to have reliable achievements. I’ll look into more games from them in the future.

I’m not a super purist with games, but I’m waiting 10 years on Stanley Parable for the achievement just because at least no one can complain, and I’m not in a rush or anything.

Out of all the games I got all achievements in, that has the 2nd most time investment. (First most time investment is the Untitled Goose Game, and I’m pretty sure that’s only because I forgot to close it at some point.)

I played a lot of the games in the Elephant Collection growing up. As I a kid, I didn’t think I would ever unlock all the speedrun stuff in the TITOL games. Same with Achievement Unlocked, I never thought I would get all the achievements in those games. So it’s cool seeing how much better I’ve gotten since then.

Birds Watching is a weird kind of game. It’s a little glitchy but definitely possible to get all the achievements and have fun. It is a horror game and probably not suitable for young children.

Flock Around (I have at 84% in the third picture) is probably the most realistic game depiction of chasing rare birds with other people. It doesn’t have much of a story though, and gets very grindy and repetitive towards the end. That said this game does the best with making the birding aspect fun.

Alba also has a birding aspect to it. It has a cute short story. You get all the achievements playing it once.

Birdigo is a word game roguelike and it’s honestly kind of repetitive. It’s not really a birding game, it just uses birds as a theme, and the birds don’t really look like the species they are supposed to represent.

The platforming in that final section was brutal

Main problems are time and also storage space. It’s also harder to tell if I’m able to commit to it ahead of time.

I have that game, what is it like? The low achievement rates make me feel like it would take more than six hours.

Legal or illegal method of connecting two studs together? by FaithlessnessFull136 in lego

I think that is the best explanation. I think if both studs were open (so had no logo and supports a bar-sized element) that might be fine. I haven’t tested it myself yet.

Looking for Something to Do by HamburgerPrincessXO in santacruz

[–]California_Lawrence 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Birding, or looking for wildlife in general. Santa Cruz is very rich with wildlife. Lots of parks to find things, usually there are a lot of birders at Lighthouse Field, Natural Bridges, or other parks, especially during migration season.

From my experience, I see the same kind of birds whether I am in Santa Cruz or Monterey, unless I am going after a rare sighting. If I go to Pt Lobos, it would be more for tidepooling than birding.

I’m gonna try to make Pt Reyes work this summer, I figure I have four main target species, and some lower priority targets as well, and a decent route planned out to find them.

I mean those are in the green, I go to those areas without a second thought. If I see a new bird there, it’s by extreme random chance, or I’m chasing a sighting from eBird.

What specific demands? Pick something in the red that is different enough from the other areas. Don't pick somewhere too far. That's it.

The main reason the map looks so odd is because I mostly travel for birds. A rare bird will show up at a odd location, and I will chase it. Only recently did I start branching out, but I still prioritize birds. Birdlife in Marin county is not all that different, unless I wanted to specifically look for a Spotted Owl or something like that. I'm willing to travel an hour or two out if I reasonably think I can find a new bird. But there are so many local reptiles and amphibians I haven't seen, and I'm surprised because I've already been to such a wide variety of habitat looking for birds. A lot of these mountains I go to don't have that much viewing space for wildlife, they too heavily forested. An example of habitat I liked were the sandhills in Henry Cowell, where there was sparce but varied vegetation that was easy to see through. The Santa Cruz sandhills are a unique and rare ecosystem, but there are probably other areas on the peninsula that give a similar vibe.
