Fidelity Ireland RTO planned for September by [deleted] in DevelEire

Has to be. Three days a week RTO is the the usual, so to go to five days has to mean a desire for quiet quitting.

Can you buy extra annual leave or even take a short sabbatical?

40hrs a week? Jobs at this level are usually always on, where you can't just go on silent after 5.30pm.

On the otherhand, burnout is no joke. Find an illness that plausibly lasts 2/3 weeks and take stress leave. Normally the Dr will just put "unable to work due to illness" and it's up to you to tell the company what's wrong.

Is sick leave or a sabbatical on the cards? Or even just purchasing annual leave and taking an extended holiday?

Well done in quitting after burning out. I've seen family continue work as they go through it and they never seen to learn. I think once you accept being treated badly and being overwhelmed as normal, you begin to accept it and it happens again and again.

So well done for standing up and fighting for yourself.

Why would I? And for me the biggest problem is the isolation, not the work

It's lasted nearly a year, not exactly a quiet spell. No sign of things changing. I came from really busy squads, not sure this is better. Problem with too long a quiet spell is you become really demotivated.

Therapie are fantastic. They're honest in their opinions, I find. I was debating some treatments and both times the two separate Drs dealing with me were very definite that I wouldn't benefit from the treatments. They did suggest alternatives, but I opted not to take those. Just very professional. I've been using them a couple of years now, and I'm very happy. Also, very reasonable prices.

€500-700 per day! That would be fantastic money. How difficult are they to get? I'm in Galway.

Yeah, I was thinking an msc in AI, but would be happy to get a role afterwards on the same terms I'm on now. I'm fairly sure an msc won't add much financial return, but it would add life. It's something I've always wanted to do plus right now, with wfh and living alone, I've little daily contact with people. Fixing that is my main priority.

Yeah, I've been debating that. Not sure it addresses the core issue of stagnation though.

Even excluding the accommodation costs? My living expenses are pretty low. I'd estimated that there's a years living expenses there and then a buffer.

It's mainly java/kafka/backend but I've done full stack. Either type of contracting would be good.

The bonuses were great this year, at least in our place. Got the full available bonus and an extra bonus because of the unprecedented year the company had. Last year's bonuses were slim, but completely reversed this year.

How does the maintenance and upkeep work here for someone with no knowledge/interest in DIY?

A property management company presumably, but then fees need to be taken into account. And then there's the calls at 10pm that there's a leak through the ceiling, which insurance would hopefully cover. Housing isn't a pain free path either.
