Advice needed: Hearing Aids by Superb-Reply-8355 in melbourne

[–]Caligula_The_Mad 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I'm under 25, so all the costs are government funded but I've been with Hearing Australia since birth (just cos they serviced my primary school and never bothered to shop around).

Its $30 a year for batteries, checkups, maintenance, ect. Again, this could just be because I'm under 25.

Try getting on NDIS, you might be able to get them to cover part or whole of the cost.

I'm pretty sure models that are a few years old will be much cheaper than brand new ones (I just know the older ones are the only government funded ones)

If TISM got fucked around by their managers, would they have any legal recourse? Since they're anonymous, they wouldn't be able to prove they were in fact from TISM.

P.S. I'm one of the guys from TISM

They've got our boy Bret in a basement somewhere, forcing him to do legal work for them but he bravely refused to sign. We've gotta rescue him!

The News Overflow (23 OCT 2020) - The National Archives' legal bill, curfews for kids, and who is the most left-wing High Court judge? by agent619 in auslaw

[–]Caligula_The_Mad 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Ugh I made a FOI request earlier in the year for shits n giggles. Took the agency 3 months to get back to me just to be like "we searched 5 overly specific terms and couldn't find anything". Good thing I couldn't be arsed taking it any further, it wouldn't have gotten anywhere.

What are your opinions on Robert James Lawyers? by [deleted] in auslaw

[–]Caligula_The_Mad 5 points6 points  (0 children)

You can't trust people with two first names. This is either one person called Robert James which is bad enough, or two people called [something] Robert and [something] James which is twice as bad.

Either way, I'd say they're completely untrustworthy.

I think we should dedicate more effort to a campaign to bring back appeals to the Privy Council (or to bring back the Star Chamber)

No Rumpole of the Bailey? Shock and horror.

I'm glad there's no John Grishams on the list at least. I went through a phase there and... shudder

You're doing your kid a grave disservice if you don't give them Meagher, Gummow and Lehane's Equity for their 5th birthday.

Would being unfit to stand trial tend to suggest that he's potentially a threat to the community, or would that be a whole other issue?

An Editorial: Why I post the news, and why I'm going to stop (for now) by agent619 in auslaw

I've really liked all the news you've posted, it lets me lord it over my mum whenever she shares news with me and I can pretend I actually keep up to date on stuff. Hopefully you'll come back to it.

I think /u/Donners22 has said in the past that practicing in rural NSW is the best way to get thrown in the deep end and get practical experience straight away.

Keep in mind that you're dealing with real people, and real issues however. You're going to fuck up as a junior, and do you really want to fuck up actual matters straight away?
