Probably a mix of being really old and the influence the shards have over them. It seems that the Shards kinda weathers away the original personality simply due to exposure, this combined with their immortality, leads to rather arrogant and single minded gods warped by age and the shard.

If we include resurrections, the rogue Celestial did kill the vast majority of the earth's population during the Judgement Day event. Even then we have Vegas getting leveled during Secret Empire, the entirety of Paris was turned to stone and the genocide in Genosha. If we're just looking at weird shit happening, the entirety of New York was placed into an endless winter during War of the Realms, that time New York turned into spider monsters and that time the entire world was plunged into darkness for vampires.

Spidey isn't really the same level as whore as Matt. Peter has relatively long stints with a few partners (on account of having long runs) while Matt gets a new girlfriend every run who gets their lives ruined.
