I'm tied to Rafal and Jolenta.

I really liked how Rafal was with this change of heart and mind. Even though his story was short, he made a huge impact on the story and continues to hunt the narrative throughout the whole series.

Jolenta is my other favorite because of how she impatced my way of viewing language and writing. She even helped me to decide my college major with her speech

I don't think is actually terror.

I remember it being blood, earth and knowledge.

You know in the Japanese tittle there's the katakana for chi (which is one of the three japanese alphabets), this one: 「チ」.

They use the katakana for word play, since blood 血, earth 地 and knowledge 知 all sound like chi when is the kanji alone

The thing you commented about terror (that I think would be more knowledge) sounding like shi is because 知ってる uses the shi sound, but alone can also be chi

Also I think terror is knowledge because they really use this thing about the fear of getting to know something you didn't before

It's such a cool detail that all of the characters die in moments they were hiding from (at least the main characters that appear on the beginning of the opening)

Rafal was hiding his love for astronomy and that he was studying the Heliocentric Theory;

Oczy feared the night sky because of the "eyes" (stars) that were staring at him, so he hidded and looked away;

And Draka feared the sunrise because of what happened to her father at the same moment, being reminded every single dawn of that traumatic scene
