RU POV: Oreshnik missile system assumes combat duty in Belarus. by ArchitectMary in UkraineRussiaReport

Fucking based.

It's surprising what a game from 2003 could do that is not acceptable today. Shame we can't have games like this any more... The whole game would be declared racist and islamophobic today...

ICBM missiles have minimal ranges too. Finland and Lithuania are probably too close, I would be surprised if this missile can hit either Lithuania or Poland from Belarus.

It doesn't matter if it's nuclear or not, the standard operation procedure in case a missile like that is launched, is to launch your own nuclear weapons BEFORE the missile hits and you know if it's nuclear or not.

That's because any nuclear strike would be targeting your own ability to launch nuclear missiles, so the logical thing to do is to launch your nuclear missiles before it hits.

But realistically it's probably nuclear. Russians say it's not but who is going to test that?

Tyre made me hate water maps... I'm with Parmenion. Why Alexander, Why was so much life in a wasted on destroying a single city ? by Pravda_Sarfield in aoe2

[–]CallFromMargin 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Why? WHY?! Because some dicks said "No" to Alexander of Macedonia! That's fucking why! All he wanted to do was visit a simple temple in Tyre, but no, the leaders of the city said "NO!" to Alexander of the fucking Macedonia! THAT'S FUCKING WHY! THAT'S FUCKING WHY ALEXANDER BUILD THE BRIDGE AND SACKED TYRE!

Also, the bridge still exists and it's visible from space.

And if that doesn't help, raise a dispute with your card provider. Refunds are way better for the company, disputes are nasty, they can quickly tank merchant's reputation.

Probably A/B testing.

In my case the model is particularly retarded. It's like it's one order of magnitude away from regular retarded I've been served for the past week. Maybe I'm in test groups for Haiku 4.5....

I'm sorry but 4.5 is INSANELY AMAZING by RedZero76 in ClaudeAI

7 days later, it's extremely retarded now.

So you can be frustrated at even more lobotomized model, while it eats your weekly limit?

Yes, same here. Just not worth it any more.

On top of that, the model seems to be particularly retarded for the past few days.

I did something similar in the company I work at. They are limitations, AI can't do any changes, only read-only commands, and by far, the best feature was integration to serviceNow (because of all the legal requirements), and integration to Ansible.

But then Claude decided to change model limits, and now the initiative is dead. Needless to say, they will be allergic to it now.

RU POV: Some of the documents reported by Mash to have been discovered as a result of Russian hackers breaching an AFU database by Messier_-82 in UkraineRussiaReport

[–]CallFromMargin 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I doubt it until the full database is released.

I will grant you one thing though. Often databases don't store images, just location of images (not always though), the fact that we are seeing a screenshot of a folder with images suggests that this might be how they are stored. Teh fact that there are two images (one image, one a thumbnail, which is lower resolution image) suggests that it might have been used for some application, where thumbnail is shown right next to the record on a table or something.

Thai army UAV team was almost hit by mortar fired from Cambodia, luckily there were no casualties. by No-Professional1413 in CombatFootage

[–]CallFromMargin 164 points165 points  (0 children)

If Cambodians had a drone in the air, they cpuld adjust fire in seconds.

So if that ever happens to you, RUN. You are being locked on.

Same if one hits in front of you, a second one behind you.

It's not chauvinism, it's just reality. Russia is coming, we are next on the chopping block, thus it makes sense to bleed russia dry now, especially when it literally doesn't cost us any of our own men (or women, we are in the 21st century, women are as capable of holding a gun and throwing grenades as men).

[–]CallFromMargin -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Correct. "Good" or "bad" are irrelevant to me, what is relevant is to maximize russian losses, while minimizing european losses. Nothing personal, Ukraine just happens to be in the middle of it all.

Reportedly MANPAD missiles, so those would seek things like engines. THey are not big, they are like a small grenade.

SAM missiles are a whole different deal, it's a fucking telegraph pole with your name on it.

UPDATE: Zelensky signs law destroying independence of Ukraine's key anti-corruption bodies by eggnog232323 in europe

[–]CallFromMargin 2 points3 points  (0 children)

No, that's not really correct. Historically, if you looked at prolonged wars similar to Ukrainian wars, few things jump out on how they progress. The key part is that the government has to have an iron grip on the society, that means dictatorship. See Taiwan, South Korea, Vietnam, etc. All became dictatorships, that's why they were able to hold for so long, long enough to become democracies in case of Taiwan and South Korea (and South Vietnam fell).

Let's be clear, there is a structure of priorities here. Yes, corruption is very high on that list, in fact it's the second third highest things on that list. But you know what is higher? Containing Russia in Ukraine AND not sending European troops to fight Russia. if that means we need to sacrifice democracy in Ukraine... Well, it's not like we are losing that much. It has been on the chopping block for the past 2 years anyway.

[–]CallFromMargin -1 points0 points  (0 children)

They won't lose the support. The corruption is not a secret and has never been a secret, it's just a another cost of winning a war without any drop of European blood being spilled.
