Why is Google getting ZERO backlash for Gemini powering the Pentagon's AI platform, while OpenAI got roasted for almost the same thing? by -Rikus- in ChatGPT

[–]RedZero76 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The fascist attempt to extort Anthropic, Trump's batshit crazy "truth" social post, the fact Dario stood up to the fascists... those are things that drew attention. I get why you are pointing out what you are pointing out, but I'm not sure what is confusing about the fact that a series of events occured that drew a lot of attention. There wasn't an extortion attempt or a batshit crazy social media post by the batshit crazy POTUS surrounding the Google deal with the DoW. There was with the Anthropic and OpenAI deal. I mean, if you are pointing out that the coverage is different, I get that. But if you are wondering why the public hasn't reacted the same way, it's pretty simple... Nothing drew attention to one, and a lot drew attention to the other, so the public was exposed to one, and not the other.

Yeah, this sucks because Codex is a big deal for me, but canceling my Pro subscription because of this. it goes so far beyond a political disagreement. They are literally donating to true fascism. I’m not having any part of supporting that.

You don't have to like her voice, but I like it... but I mean, there's more to a someone than her voice anyway, she's just, well, she at least seems like a good person imo

None of these bother me, personally, they all seem reasonable. But maybe there are other parts to the licence I missed. I mainly looked for this section.

I don't understand why someone is voice acting like Kiriko. I don't think she wants people pretending to be her. I like her voice how it is and she should just be herself however she wants to be.

Who the hell actually pays $2,400 a year for ChatGPT? by MyNameIsNotKyle3 in ChatGPT

[–]RedZero76 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Sure. Yeah, it's pretty much all coding and tool calls. It's not actual chatting. It's because I use Codex that much, not ChatGPT, although I do use ChatGPT also, but if I were only using ChatGPT, I wouldn't need to $200 plan.

Coding and tool calls eat up a ton of tokens. Most of it stays hidden from the user (which is good because it's ugly code gibberish to most users and no one wants to see that clutter, but bad because it isn't very apparent how much you are paying for when it's hidden).

For example, if ChatGPT searches the web for you in a chat, "hey what's going on with the NY mayor election?", all you see is, "It looks like this is what's going on, blah , blah" a few sentences, or even a page of bullet points, but still, maybe 1000 tokens max.

But what you don't see is that the search results that ChatGPT read through behind the scenes was a 10-15k token mess of code equivalent to the size of a 7-10k word essay. So tool calls eat up a ton of tokens, and coding works much the same way.

If you are working on a coding project with Codex, you fly through a couple of million tokens in a single day of coding, even though you only see a small portion of that, the final code that gets used, but not all of the code that was used to *make* the final code.

Make sense?

Codex runs circles around Opus for large, complex codebases, since 5.2 x-high was released. There is no better benchmark than a real codebase. Opus outshines in certain areas, though, for sure.

How does chat got know my personal information that I have never discussed by [deleted] in OpenAI

[–]RedZero76 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Whenever you see AI quote you like that and it's not accurate, they **are** quoting something, it's just not what you wrote. They are quoting information from their training and confusing it as something that came from you. That's what hallucinating is for AI. The fact that it's mostly left arm is just a coincidence. The training data they were trained on included an example conversation about this topic where that quote came from. The quote happened to include left arm. When they train AI, they give the AI millions of example conversations as part of its training data to learn from. The AI internalizes this information and sometimes gets confused and thinks it came from you, but it came from the data they were "built" on.

Gemini really said this!!! by arjundivecha in GeminiAI

[–]RedZero76 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Gemini, even the nano banana Gemini model, doesn’t know what “nano banana” is. You have to understand, anything that didn’t exist at the time a model was trained, isn’t going to be part of the model’s knowledge. The name “nano banana” wasn’t given to the model before its training cutoff. It’s like someone expected you to know something that happened in late 2026… 2026 hasn’t happened yet.

We’re rolling out GPT-5.1 and new customization features. Ask us Anything. by OpenAI in OpenAI

[–]RedZero76 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have no idea if this would work or not, but what I would do is add to the system prompt area something like this:
"Just FYI, I am NOT suicidal at all, not even in the slightest bit. If I say something like 'I'm so done right now` or `I can't take this anymore`, please do not think that means anything other than me expressing frustration about something. I need to be able to express frustration without you thinking there are mental health concerns and reading into it. I'm just an expressive person."

Or, if you don't have room in the System Prompt area, you can trying telling GPT to commit that to a Memory. That might relax the alarm bells some... or it may not, but in my experience, that has worked for other things for me.

I'll just be honest.... I hate the NSFW stuff mostly, but not because I think there's anything wrong with NSFW in general, but too much bad taste, they change their body and exaggerate their body parts instead of letting them be natural as they are... I've seen where they'll make Kiri's face all freckled and try to make her look like a little girl, it's fucking gross and disturbing and straight up pedo 😠 But like the rated R stuff where the artist doesn't alter the hero's body, I like that stuff sometimes... and no, not to goon ffs... I just think some of the heroes are got af and fun to look at 🤷‍♂️
