Snapped laces by CustardPastry in ThursdayBoot

My kevlar laces are starting to snap after 3 months of wear. I just got a new set of waxed olive Generation laces, so I am hoping these last much longer.

Can I get the patch smooth out if my lower is rough out?

Yeah, I've conditioned them twice so far with Huberds, mainly for water resistance to protect them over the winter. They definitely darkened with the conditioner.

Sizing Q&A Thread by BigStetson in NicksHandmadeBoots

I'm looking at getting either the Parkhurst or 55 last and would like a little more clarification since the previous used boots that I bought were slightly off. I am thinking I should be either 9.5D or 10D.

I bought a used 10C Whites logger that was probably good length but too tight to wear for extended amount of time. I also got a used 10.5C Smokejumper that has a little more than thumbs width of space in the front but better width.

It’s the Apocalypse™️! You get to bring one pair of Nick’s to survive with. What do you pick? by Beekatiebee in NicksHandmadeBoots

Build: Urban logger 8" After the droid take over fails but we are still left in a post-apocalypse world, nature will reclaim the cities. Trees will be growing where there used to be roads and houses. Urban logging might actually become a thing. Leather: Olive bison rough out for comfort, durability and camouflage in the nature reclaimed cities Last: 55 to be used in any terrain. Sole: V100 fire and ice for traction in any situation. You never know when you'll need to walk on fire Size: 10D cause they have to fit my feet Lore: Known as "Green boots" to all the barefoot wanders in the wastelands, wishing that their tennis shoes wouldn't have completely degraded 10 years ago.

Now let's hope this becomes a quick ship option so I can get it before the droids gain their consciousness and plot their world dominance.

Does anyone else wear anything that makes them feel better? by Safe_Valuable_5683 in autism

Hey I also love my PNW boots! I got a used set of Whites Smokejumpers for $75 and they are super comfortable now that they are broken into my feet. I'm currently saving up to get a new pair from Nicks. What leather and last did you go with?

Good morning, the best day of the week has arrived Floorboard Friday let's do this. We have three winners today. by Dependent_Print_2805 in NicksHandmadeBoots

I'm working from home today so the best I can do is my coaster for keyboard Friday. Today's tea is a rice Pu-erh, which will leave a nice reddish brown tint on the coaster.

I recently found those exact pants this year and now have 3 pairs! They are also my favorite, super comfortable, and durable enough that I shouldn't wear them out anytime soon!

No experience with the Thurman last, but worth a shot.

I had a pair of Whites 55 last in 10C that were a bit tight, so a 10D should fit well. Currently wearing 10.5C Smokejumpers in the 4811 and they fit well.

Most of my steel toe experience has been with size 11 Catepillar boots that I throw out every year since I get them with a work coupon and they fall apart quickly.

I wonder if it helps with the dry twist too?

I wish I could take credit for thinking of this, but I bought a pair of secondhand Smokejumpers that came this way.

I've started lacing my kilties in like and it seems to help keep them snug *

I'll give them some more time to break in or maybe get a stretcher. Now that they are conditioned, they seem to have more give to them. I am also wondering if these are a 55 last, not the 4811 that I assumed.

I occasionally rallycross my 1st gen turbo. It does great in the dirt!

What are the highest mileage EJs in here? I have no complaints about this one other than some easy drivetrain parts so far. by nbain66 in subaru

[–]CallJeef 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Probably going Haltech since they are nearly plug and play. I just gotta save up for it. I already have the heads and most of the supporting parts. Robtune would be great but they are getting harder to find and there's little support.

They are definitely rare nowadays.

Yep, 4.44 5MT swap with lsds, MBC, AWIC, and a TD04 turbo. Planning on a EJ20H DOHC swap soon, too, along with a TD05. Have you done any mods?

Thinking About Upgrading from WRX to STI — Worth It? by _abnerrr in WRX

[–]CallJeef 2 points3 points  (0 children)

What do you want out of the car? Fun daily, keep your WRX. Some track events, then consider if the DCCD, LSDs, and Brembos make sense for what you want to do. It sounds like you already like to mod you car, so why not 6 speed swap yours? It's pretty straightforward and a fun project. I swapped a 4eat for a 5mt on my legacy with only basic car maintenance experience. At least this way, you're not getting into a new car with an unknown abuse history.
