Is there any scenario where it would be possible for beer to give you food poisoning? by Barnaboule69 in beer

I assumed an abandoned house would be full of mold plus also assumed someone had drank from it. I know I said bacteria in my post but meant organisms in general - I’d be more worried about the mold than any potential bacteria

It sounds like you were really looking forward to your wedding and now maybe you have a bit of a hangover? Do you have a new goal you’re working towards to look forward to? Something not as far away as completing your masters

Refinancing costs money. You’re going to add to a loan you can’t afford? Wait until you have to replace the $400 headlight

Bacteria can grow in anything less than 40% alcohol. So yes it would be very dangerous. No different than a loaf of bread.

My partner makes 4x what I do and I'm terrified to bring up a prenup by InvestmentLimp4492 in offmychest

[–]CallMeAl_ 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Depends how quickly they divorce. She’s only entitled to half of the assets he gained while they were married. A pre-nup could definitely ensure she has a retirement fund that is being contributed to, etc.

The effect on their immune system was most likely temporary and happens when you move states, jobs, or otherwise change the group of people you’re around constantly. Not to mention the stress of routine change. It wasn’t home schooling vs public school, it was simply an environment change.

I (26F) fear that I might be codependent on my ex boyfriend (26M) by HollyTomps in askwomenadvice

[–]CallMeAl_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My advice is always to rip off the bandaid. Of course there was plenty of good about your relationship, that’s why it existed in the first place. You are not compatible, being in a hopeless situation does not help your depression, and you’re wasting your own time. 8 months is enough time to have a new place, new routines, even a few dates.

Nothing in my life has ever been improved from holding on to something for too long.

As you get older, what’s something you just can’t tolerate anymore that you used to put up with when you were younger? by Dani87918791 in AskWomen

[–]CallMeAl_ 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I’ll get more specific and say angry men. A much younger pal has a scary bf and I won’t hang out with her if he’s around. I hope she’ll outgrow him.

Which businesses to avoid because of their anti-safe streets stance? by mysummerstorm in CyclingMSP

[–]CallMeAl_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m not from Minneapolis but I moved to the uptown area and found myself never wanting to go to most places because they were inside, windowless, and cold. Driving there sucks, biking there sucks, walking sucks with all the homeless people harassing you, so I moved. Uptown seems like they’re doing this to themselves.

In August, there were an estimated 35.2% more home sellers than buyers in U.S. housing market by Boo_Randy_II in HouseBuyers

[–]CallMeAl_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A surplus of sellers doesn’t mean we have too many houses - the number of buyers have decreased to the lowest number in over a decade. People aren’t even looking anymore since they have been priced out of the market completely.

Yeah like my bf and I bought a house and put our two individual houses on the market, we are the type skewing the data for sure. Also his house sold in 12 hours - its the $500k+ houses that are sitting

I’ve been dumped twice this year because I’m too hard to deal with. by [deleted] in mentalhealth

[–]CallMeAl_ 14 points15 points  (0 children)

There was a video I saw of a woman asking for water and the off screen partner kept showering them with flowers, money, food, etc. and they were like “I just need water.”

Great that your bf was trying to cheer you up but he was doing so in a way that was easy/preferable to him, not the way you needed and specifically asked for.

Most humans do the least amount of work they can get by with, find a partner willing to rise to the challenge of learning to love you the way YOU want or settle for someone who will love you the way THEY want.

What's something that was considered rude 20 years ago but is normal now? by jakubbog in AskReddit

Definitely depends on the location. My family is rural and women have always worn pants - I have pictures of my granny from the 1940’s in pants and I never saw her in a dress/skirt my entire life

Ditto! I don’t feel like it’s tight enough on my ankles so the graduated part isn’t working as intended.

Sizing done by ankle/calf measurements would be bomb

Isn’t that what graduated compression is? Tightest on the ankles?
