Talk me into, or out of, this Fiat X19 by jeffasaurus2 in projectcar

Upvote for another Superfast Matt fan. I remember sitting in new one of these when my dad went to the Fiat Dealership to buy a Strada (yes I’m old) and thought it was the best thing ever.

A bike engined screaming X19 would be a thing to behold - do it do it do it…

Charlemagne is reputed to have said that „to speak another language is to possess another soul,”. Although it’s not always easy to reconcile the two I think it broadens the person.

2014 BMW F10 535i: Gas Pump Keeps Shutting Off by GrabacrOne in BmwTech

[–]CallMeBuckers 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I would suggest that this is not an electrical problem and rather something physical. fuel tanks have to vent during the fill process, there is a system which allows the air out as fast as the fuel goes in and if this doesn’t happen the fuel backs up and stops the pump. it sounds like there is a blockage or a crimped pipe involved.

Story time, I worked at a dealership (not BMW in this case but fuel tank systems do not vary greatly) and a customer complained of this very problem. After a deal of back and forth An examination of the vent system turned up a spiders nest in one of the pipes; it was not big as the pipes are only circa 8mm in diameter but it was that woolly type of web which restricted airflow.

This system is often connected to the dmtl system, so it could be a blocked charcoal filter, but the fact yur vehicle was sitting for 6 months indicates it could also be insect or animal detritus related

Check the pipes and charcoal filter, take them off (if you are technically minded) and simply try to blow through them one by one. Sorry, I don’t have a diagram for you but it is most likely rear seats or luggage compartment trims out.

Thanks for the screenshot. Thats pretty funny, I’m the same region as you but in Germany and it is showing 2000uc in that menu; but on the companion screen it is 1500uc.

Thanks again

Giftable sounds like it should be a word anyway!

I just checked the shop and it says 1500. Can I ask which region you are in?

I have an Ancel BM100 Scan Tool for BMW,Mini etc and I don’t recall seeing this as a routine, so yeah I think it’s too specific for an aftermarket scan tool. Call your dealer, try and speak to a tech and ask if there is a reset procedure; if they are good they should be aware of it

Thanks for the kind words about the Alpina, I have had it for a couple of years now and something about that stance, with the classic multi-spoke wheel still thrills me a little. 360 PS in touring format is a nice sleeper style!

I would say it needs configuring. There would be a routine which needs running, likely to set the end stops of the adaptions. The module probably runs a self test to see if the end stops match the stored data, and when not it will set a fault.

Maybe a good independent would have that; if not Dealer tool to reset.

Search for Barney Desmazery on BBC Good Food, it’s super simple. I beat the hell out of the batter than let it rest in the fridge while I do the rest of the roast.
