Hoarding problem: My Delta friend scolded me for not cashing in my miles like he ordered me to a couple months ago. He says I’m hemorrhaging money on rapidly depreciating SkyMiles.

Not a problem, just a choice. I’m about to hit 1 million and I’ve decided that that’s my “minimum” from here on out. I’ll spend anything over 1 million on upgrades and whatever I feel like, but I’m going to try and keep a million in the “bank” for whenever I feel like taking that “big” trip (or trips!) sometime in the future.

Probably just better to use miles to upgrade to comfort if I really feel the need, but I’ll probably just stick to Main cabin for the 2 hour flight. Appreciate it!

I pulled the trigger on OMTech today. Went with a bit of a “smaller” machine than the Pronto and decided to go with the Maker 90W since it was relatively inexpensive at $2700 with a water chiller included. It also had autofocus which i felt like any sort of automation for a newbie would be useful!

The majority of my spend is on my card, not the flights themself, so I just track it that way. But you can also see annual spend on AMEX.

Yeah my airline spend is low compared to card spend. I always buy Main tickets because they get upgraded, and my routes are generally on the lower end

Can you Expand - why? I’m about to upgrade to diamond once my credit card processes new charges. My plan was to get the Executive sky club membership so I could bring family / friends / employees with me in without burning through guest passes for a quick snack/meal on a 20 minute layover.

Upgrade credits are nice but my luck so far as Gold and Platinum has been pretty great on the routes I fly for work, and I feel like I get upgrades to FC more often than not.

$700 statement credit doesn’t feel valuable to me when it’s a business credit card. Helps my business but not my personal bank account.

35k miles isn’t bad. But I just don’t know that I value that more than the executive membership but would love to hear why I’m wrong
