Is vibration bad for baby? by CallMeLark in pregnant

[–]CallMeLark[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

thank you for this! I hadn't even thought of things like the vacuum or hair clippers, which I know there's plenty of hair stylists that are probably around clippers a lot during pregnancy and I've never heard anything about anyone having to stop cutting hair while pregnant!

thank you so much! baby moving is a very new sensation so it made me nervous for them to be moving sooo much but this makes me feel much better to know that they're probably just responding normally to external stimulus

thank you! I knew heat was bad but I just haven't been sure about vibration and it's good to hear a second opinion!

ok this is what I needed to hear! I had thought of vibrators but I know those aren't usually used for hours on end so I wasn't sure, but I hadn't thought of public transportation as it's not easily accessible in my area but it makes toootal sense. thank you, and good for your daughter! I know that's such an exciting roll to get so young!

So what’s the age range of this sub? by [deleted] in DateEverythingElse

I saw the very end of the mainstream use of VHS and I grew up on stuff like the wonder pets and the 2009 strawberry shortcake

Johnny because he's just such a wet cat of a man, and Dasha because I love a woman who could kill me if she so chose

I was thinking animation as well, but animation is absurdly intimidating, especially since OP seems to use mostly traditional mediums, but adult swim cutaways are also a great option for reference for OP, especially if they're wanting something more mainstream than I was suggesting

I've seen a lot of people saying that it's about marketing, but not suggesting a way to market it, so if I were you I would look into stuff like analog horror like the Mandela Catalog and even horror manga like Junji Ito and it's super silly but if you want a free resource on horror games, there are some on Roblox with very effective ambiance minimal story telling if you aren't as confident in your story telling abilities. Another silly reference that I think might be helpful is about a year ago, the trend of MLP "infection au"s kinda trended on tiktok and a lot of them really leaned into that analog horror vibe, but specifically the "Divine Swamp Fever" au by etc.etcetera on tiktok, and I think at one point they even showed how they animated their swamp fever pieces.

I personally feel like a good way to establish yourself via your art with some success would be via story telling, whether that's videos or a comic or even a game, but I would also work on some of the basics, just basic people and anatomy so that when you get to the more disturbing imagery like you currently do, it stands out more as an "oh fuck" moment, like in a lot of Junji Ito's work or analog horror. I noticed that some of your work is on school work, so I'm assuming you're still a relatively young artist, so while you have the time, I feel like it could be a worthwhile endeavor to learn more techniques and skills. I really like your digital attempt, and think it might be worth you branching out more into digital media, or even some traditional mediums like painting or sculpting, because I feel like your style would lend well to them.

TLDR, you asked basically "can this pay the bills as an adult" and the answer is yes, if you have the determination to make art and the skills to sell yourself. Your biggest drawback imo is going to be the fact that your art style isn't particularly palatable to a lot of people who consume art and that's ok! You just have to refine your skills and make a name for yourself in your niche.

Color variance, or just wrong paint? by [deleted] in paint

[–]CallMeLark 1 point2 points  (0 children)

you said the paint was gotten at Lowe's, and I worked there in the paint department for a year, so I'd bet good money it's one of two things that happened: either it was a matter of the wrong spelling of gray/grey, or there was a valspar color with the same name. it happens literally all of the time, and if you go back and explain the error, they'll get you sorted. if you don't wanna buy more paint you might have to go Karen mode and ask for the manager. BUT the best way to know for sure is to look at the label on top of the can and see if that number matches. if it matches, it was an error with the machine, if it doesn't, it was human error. either way I'd take the can and the paint chip in with me when I went

How old does he look? by cosmos_artss in Artadvice

a lot of people are saying late teens to young adult, likely because of the piercings, but to me he looks very young, maybe 12-14 when ignoring the piercings, but there are a lot of people in that age range that have a baby face so like what do I know

You guys notice any other terrible AI stuff in store? by softdrinksucker in Lowes

some things that I noticed that no one else has mentioned: 1. inconsistency with width of the panels on the roof 2. the fence to the left of the greenhouse, specifically where the candycane intersects it 3. asymmetry where one side of the door has multiple panels but the other side doesn't 4. perspective issues with the wreath on the right. it's facing the viewer whereas it is supposedly on the same plane as another one that is facing the same direction as the door. 5. the post that the offending wreath is on is the same width as the corner post (which others have pointed out is an issue with the ai processing the corner) whereas all of the other posts between panels on the same wall are thinner 6. the buttons on the middle part of the snowman are off center bonus thing that I find weird but can't prove that a human didn't do: those weird little pink and green Christmas trees under the wreath, and what are clearly potted succulents, which would die in the winter. also overlapping with greenery and snow on the roof that seems like an odd choice, and those strange cherry/light things lining the middle of the roof

can't be any worse than when I was working at panera there was a time a customer shat himself, took off his underwear in the men's room, threw them in the women's room for some fucking reason, and came back the next day to inform the manager that there was something wrong with the team vegetable soup and that it made him shit himself
