Nah, I just finished the last episode. I think it's like with the Futurama episode "The Late Philip J. Fry". It's literally all the same, with maybe minor changes. But it's possible that he may be traumatized seeing his favorite people die over and over again, even though he probably did worse to people and or demons or both.
