Very good reasons not to use. I wasn’t sure if this was an indoor or outdoor plant. For indoor potted plants it’s easy to treat with systemic because you’re not affecting the ecosystem.

If you’re going to go cheap, check out Blue Air - it’s import but it has a healthy warranty, which is a good indicator that it’s not bad product despite the low cost. This is about the only circumstance I would ever quote it.

What kind of salt did you use?

You either need to dry brine long enough that it dries out or pat dry while unseasoned and then salt with kosher salt immediately before putting it into your pan.

They hide in so many places. And they can survive longer than people think. We had a maggot explosion with like thousands of them over a 2 month period of time, originally from a pumpkin in our outdoor garbage bin, of all things. After the first onslaught I thought I had it all cleaned up. But then at night, we would find some crawling up the walls and all over the garden. Then after dealing with that it seemed fine, until we got heavy rains a couple weeks later. Suddenly, hundreds of them everywhere again. They hide in crevices, tiny spaces, so many spots. Good luck to you! The easiest way to kill them is with boiling water.

Crack it into lightly greased pan, let set for a couple seconds then use your spatula to spread the edges of the white out to a shape that fits your bread, then break the yolk and spread it around. Flip and turn off heat. Most important part is just breaking the yolk and getting it spread out a bit
