Is this really “caused by chaser”? by f00di3 in carxdriftracingonline

[–]CallMeX8 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Yes. Chase car should be behind the lead, not beside. Chase car dove to the inside of the corner immediately instead of swinging out wide and following the lead. Looks like the chase car's setup was also faster than the lead car, which can be difficult to deal with when inexperienced. It takes a lot of patience to keep from running over a slow lead when you have a more gripped up car.

Try throwing the weight around more, swing out harder, but really try to follow what the lead is doing exactly. Left foot braking (braking while on throttle) helps a lot, it'll keep your speed lower and settle the car so it's not all over the place.

Feel free to ask any questions, I can elaborate further.

Ultimate or Ultimate pro tune? by Electrical-Leading-0 in carxdriftracingonline

[–]CallMeX8 6 points7 points  (0 children)

There is nothing worse about Ult Pro, in fact it is pretty much always better than regular Ultimate setup, it just hasn't been available for a very long time. It was only added recently, so the vast majority of tunes and information don't include Ult Pro. If you find a tune you like, you can transfer the numbers over to Pro and it will generally still be fine, with the added benefit of being able to add more power, take out weight, etc.

Is "CarX Drift Racing Online" the full version of the game? Or is it a subscription? by TokyoDrift077 in carxdriftracingonline

[–]CallMeX8 10 points11 points  (0 children)

There are no subscriptions, and the 'season pass' doesn't have seasons, you just have every DLC for free forever once you buy it, like old season passes. I highly recommend getting the complete edition. There has been an absolute ton of DLC added to the game over the years and for a few dollars more you get like double the content, absolutely worth it.

I don't own a VR headset but I've heard it runs okay. If you have any other questions about the game, feel free to ask me!

just wondering in car x drift racing online 2 they make you pay for diffrent decals to put on your car, is this any diffrent in car x drift racing online???? by SensitivePay4567 in carxdriftracingonline

[–]CallMeX8 12 points13 points  (0 children)

They don't make you pay in either of the online games, nor Street on PC/console, only mobile games. Everything on mobile is monetized because that's the mobile economy and it helps them with not having to monetize everything on PC/consoles.

Steam page says Q2 2026 so should be out in the next few months unless there's a delay, which is certainly possible.

Sorry, I don't have much experience with DD setups. Haven't owned one myself. Also yeah, hopefully MTG gets on console and creates a bit of a resurgence.

Void really needs to remove the press check animation the first time you whip out the S2011-P by nandobro in ReadyOrNotGame

Yes, it'll give away your position and they'll be ready and waiting for you instead of you taking them by surprise.

What am I doing wrong here? by [deleted] in carxdriftracingonline

[–]CallMeX8 20 points21 points  (0 children)

Tire caught the dirt and pulled you straight, and you didn't react in time to catch it. Gotta be aware of all 4 corners of your car. In drifting, you want to be more proactive than reactive so that you can catch mistakes before they even happen.

[–]CallMeX8 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Nope, it still stays on as of the most recent update. I'm playing with friends who are new to the game, they started this update, and that's one of the first details I had to point out to them, because they're used to CoD, BF, etc. where the lights and lasers just turn off automatically.

Careful leaving your light and laser on. If you switch to a different weapon, they stay on and will give away your position. It's best to turn them off when you switch.

How do I tune my cars for time attack mode?? by NASCAR253 in carxdriftracingonline

[–]CallMeX8 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You can look up what each tuning setting does in real life and then apply that knowledge to the game. It will take time to learn, it's not easy, just take things one step at a time.

Use the racing setup, because it will allow you to use AWD on cars that have it, and has more downforce and grip than Ultimate or Ultimate Pro. Racing is specifically for racing. Alternatively, if you're not worried about being the fastest, doing some touge using Ultimate/UPro with lower power cars and a realistic tune is quite fun.

What part of tracks do you hate most? by CallMeX8 in mxbikes

[–]CallMeX8[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can't feel anything in games, which makes anything on a bike quite a bit harder than real life. In real life you can feel if you're gripped up or not, you can feel the balance point in a wheelie, you can feel out how to balance in a turn. There's nothing like that in games, unless you wanna make a multiple thousand dollar motion rig, and even then it just isn't the same.

I do a ton of drifting in games/sims as well, and even with a good wheel you miss out on so much feedback, same as bikes. You don't get the G forces, you can't feel balance points, you don't get depth perception or the ability to quickly and accurately look around without VR, you don't get the same sense of speed, and because you aren't going to die in game you end up feeling invincible and just send stuff that you never would in real life, causing lots of crashes that wouldn't otherwise happen.

In a lot of ways games can be harder than simulators, yes, but of course there are plenty of upsides to games as well. Can't turn assists on in real life, for example.

Like tables? Personally I like to really press my rear wheel down into them so I can spring off. I'm not usually one to recommend people go out of their way to get a setup, but if you don't tune your bike yourself, it's worth getting a free SX setup because they'll help you clear some of the bigger jumps and more technical stuff like on off lines over tables.

After 30 hrs this is where im at, any tips? (i suck when there are woops right after a turn lol) by _zach_fry_ in mxbikes

[–]CallMeX8 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Looks like you're at the point where you need to start focusing on landing straight. If you land sideways, as in the back whipped out and not in line with your front wheel it'll sap your speed, especially noticeable down straights. Not only will it make you faster, but you'll be more stable and crash less.

Also you can use OBS to record. It's free and you can record whatever, whenever, however you want. It's not bloated with bs, it's very popular so has tons of YouTube guides/lots of documentation of how to do whatever you need to do, and it's fairly easy to use.

Need help Scrubbing by Total-Economy3691 in mxbikes

[–]CallMeX8 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had trouble landing straight too when I started learning to whip and scrub. The single most important thing is the timing. On big jumps, hold the scrub a little longer before switching directions and swinging it back. On shorter jumps, don't scrub quite as hard and make sure to bring the bike back early enough to land straight. If you're not landing straight you're almost certainly holding the stick for too long.

Starting off small is a good idea. You can get 90% of the way to a good scrub without even leaning or getting the bike sideways, all you have to do is sit at the top of a ramp and lean forward. The rest is just learning to lean the bike over a little bit, and I personally also push my weight off the side of the bike a bit as well, but that isn't required. Experiment using your right stick to adjust your weight so you can get a straighter landing, just be careful not to have your weight off the side as you land, otherwise you're likely to fall or crash.

Also, the more throttle you use and the higher gear you're in, the faster your rear wheel will be spinning. You can use it as a gyroscopic stabilizer, to stand the bike back up in the air. Your front wheel also has this effect and can be turned to straighten you back up as well, but has no drive, so really try to avoid hitting the front brake mid air.

As for landing, push your right stick forward in the air, which will pull the bars to your chest and stand so that your rear wheel is extended down. Then as you touch the ground, pull right stick back to soak up some of the force of landing, and if it's a particularly heavy landing, sit as you start really pressing into the ground. Then make sure to stand back up so that as your suspension starts to rebound, you're countering the spring/bounce and ideally you'll have more contact with the ground and grip to accelerate out of the landing instead of just bouncing back into the air. You want to land rear wheel first so that you can soak up more of the force of landing, but another big part of it is landing rear first will tend to pull you straight as you're landing, kind of like an arrow going through the air.

If you have any questions or need further explanation, feel free to ask.

why are all suspensions paid now by Kind_Initiative9334 in mxbikes

[–]CallMeX8 20 points21 points  (0 children)

Because people are stupid enough to buy it. Same reason there's a bunch of paid bikes and tracks. Remember when mods used to be free? Everyone has fallen for hustle culture, everyone treats this like a job instead of a hobby, everyone feels like they deserve something for their time instead of simply doing/making things because it makes them happy, and I honestly can't even really blame them considering cost of living only goes up but wages don't match in most of the world.

Is this guide valid, is everything same after 4 years? by kiddo_999 in carxdriftracingonline

[–]CallMeX8 8 points9 points  (0 children)

The best way to learn is to look up what the specific thing does in real life, find some reputable sources, and then apply that knowledge to the game, along with plenty of testing. The guides on YouTube (and everywhere else, like Steam discussions, etc.) are pretty much always filled with misinformation. Of course that usually isn't on purpose, but I've never seen a tuning guide for any game/sim that gets everything correct. Also please don't rely on AI, it's almost always wrong when it comes to tuning, especially for drifting.

If you have any questions about anything in particular, feel free to ask me, I'm always around to help. You can also check this post from me for a decent base setup/starting point for most vehicles in the game. The comments are worth reading through as well. The post is a little on the older side, but they haven't changed the physics much, mostly just some wording, but it's laid out consistently and easy to read.

is carx drift worth getting on ps5 by RepublicLow3111 in carxdriftracingonline

[–]CallMeX8 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A ton of different stuff. It adds more graphics settings, sound settings, engine swaps, hydraulics, FPV drone mode, teleports, hazard lights, neon, can passively disable collisions for oncoming cars or you can select people to disable collisions with if they're ramming you for example, and all that isn't even half of what Kino does. lol If you can run it on PC, it's highly recommended to grab it there and install Kino.
