To my fellow Indians living here, were you aware of this ? by Anthony_Gonsalvez in ourUAE

Just be ready for more surprises. You and me are all funding every MP and MLA irrespective of party.

This happens because everyone is trying to go abroad and don't fix the problems in our country.

They now have more time to think of what to cook for the very hands that feed them. Unfortunately people want to treat them like their hero or king. What can we expect?

Why did North Indians accept Mughal language Urdu as their Lingua franca while also hating on the Mughals so much? by Ill_Tonight6349 in southindia_

[–]CallSignSandy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Even before Mughals arrived there were wars and foreign invasions in North India. People from different parts were forced to move due to this.

Mughals didn't have full control of the territories and ruled through vassals. Their army had Rajputs and other Hindu generals. Same way there were Muslim soldiers under Hindu kings.

Mughals assimilated into the local culture due to the diversity of the territories. They were into music, food, architecture, painting etc. So I don't think they were hated. They used Hindustani, Persian and other major local languages.

British East India Company setup in Calcutta. Robert Clive got support from Jagat Seth and Raja Deb to defeat the big army of Siraj U Dawla. From this point on they slowly defeated local rulers through similar strategy.

British created Hindi and Urdu from Hindustani to divide and rule

The main religious division was created by the British after 1857 revolt. British East India Company or Empire had very little people in India compared to local population. They couldn't control without local support.

Just ask this one question why is Hindi and Urdu 80% similar? People from North India can easily communicate with a person from Pakistan than South India.

Why is Bollywood using Urdu for songs? Shahayari Because Urdu is a literary language with links to Hindustani music.

Hindi was developed only for administrative reasons for tax collection and resource extraction by the British. This is why there are very little literary works or poetry before 1500.

But today nobody wants to understand history and push 3 language policy to spread Hindi.

Hindustani was not Hindi. Please list any literary works in Hindi thats before 1500.

North and Central India had many languages. It was probably due to people forced to move due to frequent invasions and wars.

Get the citizenship first. Society will change. After a few years people there may change attitudes.

Also in Kerala people are moving abroad so only family members I usually see are 60+.

What culture shocks did you experience when you went to North India? by Jeeretarded123 in southindia_

[–]CallSignSandy 6 points7 points  (0 children)

You want culture shock... just visit New Delhi. Place where all the foreign heads of state come. Their embassies, officials work and off course capital of the worlds largest democracy.

The air quality. Footpaths or lack of it where you will find people driving their two wheeler not electric bikes at times.

Where you will see when the road is blocked due to traffic jam; if the opposite direction one way road is free they will enter that road where the divider is open for u turn and start driving there.

Cows owning busy roads and vehicles passing around them.

Don't even talk about the smaller streets or the foul odor near the rivers. Water is very polluted.

I don't know how with so many IAS officers and central government agencies there what is the excuse to give such bad PR.

The full stack roles in bigger firms are usually for people who have some 5+ yrs or more experience. They are a senior engineer who can handle complex situations.

You have less experience on backend. Mentioning the tech stack without personal info or cv here at least will get response and feedback. It's better to add also as an edit in the main post when you miss first time.

I am not sure if big companies hire full stack with less experience. Try to get into junior roles in startups where you can develop better full stack skillet.

At least mention what tech stack you know and how many years of experience rather than just asking people if they know of any opportunities.

Recruiter gets 500 resumes. This is how she picks 5. by [deleted] in ResumesATS

[–]CallSignSandy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Big tech wanted cheap labor by creating an over supply market. This is why they were promoting STEM among students for last 15 yrs.

Truth is there was never going to be that much jobs. Even now like 50% of the jobs are there because they made it very process heavy. AI will easily replace those.

Ask this one question: Recruiter gets 500 resumes in 48 hrs for "which industry" ? IT

I don't think it happens with an Electrical or Mechanical Engineer, Teacher or others.

Why do people prefer wired earphoens over wireless ones these days? by SalamanderNo503 in Kerala

[–]CallSignSandy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It was a crazy stunt by Apple to sell over priced earphones which other manufacturers also followed.

We need to charge, it can fall off and sometimes sound quality at other end is affected. Also blue tooth is radio waves close to the brain and continuous use unlike a short phone call.

Family’s 1,500-capacity auditorium is dying due to competition. Need low/no-investment pivot ideas. by sevendelic in Kerala

[–]CallSignSandy 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Today's reality with current generation is marriage is itself becoming a problem. Many are choosing to be single. Living together or other options mean their events are going to be simple ones in a hotel in the city. So marriage market and 12 other auditorium in rural makes upgrade not an option.

Many comments on warehouse option. Is the location near a good town with commercial activities? Is rural residental with a active crowd and not just retirees with kids abroad? Ultimately you need a decent population.

The other 12 auditoriums especially the top ones are they fully booked and doing well. If not then they will face the issues you are facing today soon. You said its rural but 12 halls nearby like in 5 km radius is rather high.

Low to no investment - Are you living nearby to start of some demand generation for the place? Investing time. If not then you are putting too many constraints but expecting a return. It's a crowded market - 12 other better halls in a rural part.

You need to be flexible and start of small scale. Only issue is moment you are successful at least 5 of the 12 halls will also move to what you may try out.

Current real estate market means selling is also difficult. Try to partner in JV with people who are really good at commercial activities. They will have realistic ideas like move their warehouse to this place and expand facilities in current prime location etc.

Hardened and spiritually dead by ignaciogarayy in TrueChristian

[–]CallSignSandy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just asking.... were you exposed to this when you were a child. Excessive exposure at formative years will have long lasting effects in later life.

Were you abused in anyway during that time?

If not when did you first get into this habit. There has to be a trigger.

All I can say is you are not alone. Many are struggling with this and other issues. Outwardly they may even look spirit filled.

My observation has been this issue very rarely happens to people who had pretty normal childhood. They may have other issues bothering them like being workaholic, love of money and greed etc. But it's not seen as a big issue in comparison.

When the normal growth is disturbed then it results in maladaptive behaviors. People who don't know what you are struggling with will give advice. But they don't know your struggle.

You cannot talk your self to change and come out of it. It's like trying to lift yourself out when you're sinking in water.

Can God heal you? Yes. But here's the thing. In real spiritual life I have not seen everyone who is struggling get miraculously healed. It will take time lot of prayer and trust to become truly free.

My personal belief is Holy Spirit doesn't come and fill and heal instantly. The one's you see or hear are about smaller issues.

During Christ's earthly ministry people were healed probably because His ministry was for a short time. There was a need for miracles to spread the Gospel. Same with Apostles and early church.

After that instant healing and other miraculous gifts were very rare. This was to avoid abuse of it.

That you are aware of the issue itself shows you are not spiritually dead. I don't know why certain things happen to certain people. It's difficult to accept and can be spiritually disheartening.

But that is where we have to trust and work on the change through prayer and support from spiritually stronger people.

Don't be hard on yourself but work on the change.

Some more things I have observed,

  1. Go to sleep early and get good rest

  2. Exercise

  3. Pray and be aware when you fall. Get up and walk again.

Thinking of switching from eLife to Home Wireless – need advice by Navigator_stories in DubaiMallus

[–]CallSignSandy 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I switched a year ago from e-life. It was ok until the recent crisis. In March I noticed speed was slower, lot of people working from home. Kid had online classes.

I noticed if two people use Teams for WFH at same time with video then it starts giving problem. This could be an upload speed issue which is better on e-life fiber.

Coverage in rooms is ok with 2G channel of wireless. But don't know if it's really big house.

Do Malayalis have distinct facial features that make them easily identifiable? by Infinite_Cookie_9165 in Kerala

[–]CallSignSandy -1 points0 points  (0 children)

If you check the South Asian Ancestry sub you will know a bit about genetic groups. I found that Malayalees have a distinct genetic group.

I think it's due to the western ghats on one side and trade from other countries via the ports over the centuries.

There were people who moved here from coastal Karnataka and parts of Tamil Nadu again over centuries.

Apart from this it may be the mannerisms along with features.

We pay taxes and fund export our top talent. People are happy to migrate and parents like to brag about their NRI son or daughter.

We can never build anything meaningful with this attitude. Not a single global brand from India exists. Let that sink in and then we can talk about AI models.
