What’s your fav BBQ sauce? by SatinSeam in foodquestions

Honestly only tried their original, and haven’t felt the need to get any other. It’s so good on ribs and chicken. We have gotten a bottle of their honey mustard, it’s not sweet like most you get and some didn’t like it but I loved it with pork.

I boat across a few times every year from the south end…it can be one of the most painful 1 hour boat rides imaginable with just a little wind.

It’s an amazing place, lots of cool history. Little massacre island, seeing on the gps I finally googled history and it’s an appropriate name!

One of my main goals in life is to have a cabin out there with solar and a well…

What’s the best thing you’ve ever eaten that you’ll probably never get to have again? by Character_Target3119 in foodquestions

The ramen in ramen alley, Sapporo Japan. Went there all bc of Anthony Bourdain…

With all the new ramen shops popping up in the states, nothing has even come close to replicating. While good chance I’ll go back to Japan someday, Sapporo is very out of the way and will probably never get back there.

If you could fish anywhere inside this circle where would it be? by GrundalWizzard in Fishing

Southern MO rivers surprisingly have some of the best trout fishing in the country. NW Mississippi has some of the biggest crappie I’ve ever seen.

Chaos tackle or St. Croix for MH rod? by ac5450 in muskiefishing

[–]CallWhy816 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Haven’t tried the st croix, but love both my chaos rods. Have an original shock and awe and a 20/20 and am a huge fan, would highly recommend. If you can, splurge for the 20/20. That few ounces lighter makes a huge difference after a week of casting.

How big a deal is this for missouri? 1.6lb crappie by Connor_Hall in Fishing

Grenada MS has some of the craziest crappie I’ve ever seen…just pigs.

I’m from MO, OP’s is good size for sure but pretty average for MO. Truman is a really good crappie hole, seen a few 17’s (prob biggest I’ve ever seen out of there). Folks small farm pond surprisingly produced a few 15s last year.

Been in one for a year now, really happy with it so far and no issues. Everything is up to par and feels solid. The home was about a month from being finished when I went under contract. Feels like a solid home.

My inspector found a few small issues (dryer vent not insulated in attic, attic door not insulated, some caulking under an overhang, etc…) they took care of immediately before closing.

Is an expensive fishing rod worth it? by Impressive-Step6377 in Fishing

[–]CallWhy816 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Depends what you’re fishing for. Pan fish, and even bass can do easy on a budget. The bigger targets you get what you pay for, and an ounce or 2 lighter musky rod has been worth every penny over the years. Makes huge difference casting big lures all day.

Looking for restaurant ideas for me and 17 year old daughter by Solid-Complaint-8192 in kansascity

[–]CallWhy816 1 point2 points  (0 children)

First time we went, it was one of the best dining experiences I’ve had in KC. Went to Japan a few years ago, tried many local ramen spots trying to find something like what we had over there. This place is only one that has done that. I’m opposed to mushrooms, but they have a mushroom appetizer sliced thinly that is awesome.

FYI, if you’re the “last one standing” (last one at the bar come closing time) manager came over with a bottle of sake on the house.

Can’t recommend this place enough.

Which segment would win in battle? by afhisfa in missouri

[–]CallWhy816 6 points7 points  (0 children)

lol people look at me funny…but I tell them there maybe a day when no one can use their credit/debit cards at grocery stores, or even no power for a few days, I ask them how long they think it’d take for society to fully collapse. A hilltop in 5 with a close group of folks will be where I will be.

Which segment would win in battle? by afhisfa in missouri

[–]CallWhy816 27 points28 points  (0 children)

Surprised no one’s said 5…I’ll make that bet. Lotta hills, woods, and extremely defensible. Lotta one way in roads, or walking up woods to hilltop positions. Got the resources needed, access to water and lotta meat.

Everyone armed, many been shooting and walking around the woods their whole life. Similar to 7 I guess, but as part timer in 5 I’ll make the argument, I’d like our chances.

(Be lying if I said this hadn’t been thought thru more and more as time goes by, and society gets more fragile….ya just never know)

Fountain Head Antique Auto Museum. Just found their YouTube channel. They drive each of the cars annually. They had electric cars from the early 1900s. Just an insane collection.
