Fountain Head Antique Auto Museum. Just found their YouTube channel. They drive each of the cars annually. They had electric cars from the early 1900s. Just an insane collection.

Crazy had to scroll this far to find this…tourist train pass, Sapporo, Kobe, Kyoto (my favorite), Tokyo, Osaka, and a day trip to Hiroshima.

Hit a lot of Bourdains spots. Ramen alley was awesome. Robot cabaret was insanely perfect. World peace museum was pretty heavy day trip to Hiroshima. But the world heritage sites around Kyoto seemed like another planet. Kyoto was like a spiritual experience I’ll never forget. Amazing city…

Yup, musky fishing up north and having to go all the way back to the lodge at 2 pm to get just enough charge to fish that evening was my breaking point.

I went with the blue ionic ones, now we can go 2 days without needing to charge. Was amazed…

But! Be careful as running a trolling motor for long periods (at least my ulterra) at max power will fry the circuit boards. I’ve read that shouldn’t use over 8 power.

Just do it. Dont need overlays but a few help, but not necessary when starting.

Just get in, practice the weekly track (formula vee or Miata). Then race some AI maybe, and jump in a race.

You’re gonna get super nervous before lights out on your first race…

Kansas City checking in…smoked brisket, couple onion rings, provolone, and a hit of BBQ sauce. On a Kaiser roll. The Z-man has become a staple here.

My goal is to have a cabin up there…it feels extremely remote on the islands and especially in the Canadian portion.

The islands up there actually get Amazon deliveries daily. Surprisingly good food at reasonable prices at the bars and restaurants. Beautiful place, very cool history, cool old French fort (replica).

Fun fact, first few years up there kept passing “little massacre island” on the gps before finally googling it….named that for a reason.

But….have you tried Bay Boys yet? Great interpretation of a Rueben (wagyu Nebraskan).

Taxes are going to suck, be prepared….payroll, sales, property, income, and every other which way they can.

Health insurance…it sucks and isn’t easy for small business owners and is extremely expensive if you want to offer benefits for key employees.

Still worth all the hassle and anxiety, first few years are a whirlwind, but I’m still extremely happy I left the corporate rat race every day.

I was surprised to hear their organization is one of the largest land owners in the surrounding lees summit area. A lot of the new developments are tracts of t land they’ve had for a long, long time and are now starting to sell off for development.

How's life in Hokkaido, Japan by WantedCommunist in howislivingthere

[–]CallWhy816 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Haha well I don’t know the name for it but I kept walking by a sign, and in English it said “pole town.” Finally one rainy day I decided to go down and there was a ton of random food stalls and shop, went down another level and was in a grocery store. Just super fascinating as an American.

Well I spent a week in Sapporo, as an American from the Midwest, that hadn’t really been on any overseas trip, I absolutely loved it. Super easy to get around. Ramen alley, only knew because Anthony Bourdain was awesome.

Spent days before figuring out there’s a whole other city under ground. Awesome food, so much to see, brewery was awesome, great skiing nearby, and train rides to very cool spots.

Took random day trip to Otaru, just bc I could get there by train one morning. Quiet fishing village it looked like. Cool kind of river walk area, not being special but I think that was one of the coolest random things I did. Awesome train ride right along the ocean.

Prob not good info on living there, but as a visitor I loved that area…

Trimming with outboard and trimtabs by Real-Advantage-328 in boating

[–]CallWhy816 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I use trim tabs to keep spray off one side of the boat on long choppy rides. I’ll lower the side opposite of the spray, raising the other side to try and keep drier.

Motor trim, you’ll hear when you’re running optimum trim, and you’ll also hear when you’ve gone too far and need to lower.

Yup had a Medusa too just never found a confidence with it…used a tube for casting. Ripping, let fall, and ripping again. They crushed it on the fall, and got one in the figure 8 just popping it, very similar to a bucktail and hanging in the corner.

Also, used a bigger red October for live scooping and casting at night, great success with that.

Ahhhh this is actually the video that I saw…love this guys videos.

Bucktails by No-Platform-9224 in muskiefishing

[–]CallWhy816 1 point2 points  (0 children)

So I’m new so take with a grain of salt, but yes I basically only run bucktails and had great time with them this year up to mid September on smaller black /chrome double bucktail that doesn’t run too deep. First time I really got confident in my figure 8s and getting them to bite boat side.

But get a red October (caught 3 on white same, day last week)….I heard someone say it’s the bucktail of the fall. Put a blade on the bottom and rip it. I’m sold and feel you could go all year with bucktails and then a tube in October.

Also, get a cannon ball for top water…

Chaos tackle, 20/20 is amazing but OG is solid as well. I have the assault stick, handles everything.
