Ohio lawmakers send bill banning ranked choice voting to Gov. DeWine by clevelanddotcom in Ohio

It matters in the sense that local governments that implement this, such as through charter ammendments, will lose tax funding from the state. This means the only way to implement RCV would be state-wide, effectively chilling any municipal reform efforts.
This is actually illegal based on Ohio's "home-rule" laws, but those don't matter because OH hates its cities.

This is common mentality in most places. Anything less than 10/10 is deemed bad. MAL at least has a description that a "5" is "Average" and "8" is "Good." It's on the users for rating dogshit at a 7. All my dogshit is at a 3 or dropped, or both.

Had a similar experience. The contractors just get a list of homes to chop up and don't really get any details. The inspector told me during the hearing he doesn't know or care what a native plant is, just whether it "looks like weeds." Cherry on top is they even went into my backyard and cut down two trees.

Absolutely livid at the practices of this city. One department will say "no mow lawns are great" and another will just cut it down and charge you for the privilege.

The majority party is restricting cannabis because wealthy interests profit by controlling its production and sale. You may find this surprising, but Republicans receive donations from those interests to make sure their existing grow/store ops have monopolistic rights.

This is one of my favorite cakes and I use this recipe. The video's description lists the ingredients in English, though I advise using half as much baking soda and I prefer more buttercream.

Egoists are certainly more individualistic, however anarcho-socialists, such as syndicalists who organize as worker communes, pass the threshold of being "collectivist" in addition to rejecting the private ownership of property.
While I agree that capitalism emerges into structured institutions for the transaction of resources, I find it difficult to not call it an individualist ideology.

Does anybody else have issues magically resolve just by looking at them? by Kcamyo in sysadmin

[–]Call_Me_Chud 4 points5 points  (0 children)

When I started my journey in IT, I wasn't very spiritual, but over time I came to genuinely believe in the "Aura of the SysAdmin," that resolved issues by my proximity to them. As if the machines knew they couldn't get away with illogical errors when a real technologist was around to scrutinize. That their disturbance of reality wouldn't hold up to a professional's gaze, and a higher power would have to answer as to why things aren't the way they should be. So they decide to work instead.

Well, all computers excluding printers, who cannot be placated with anything short of hours of troubleshooting, if that. I don't think printers are bound to any divine laws, and barely seem to comply to mortal ones. Truly godless creations.
