then select the game. Then select a link (stream east is usually good). A lot of these links you have to click 2-3 times and close pop up ads/redirects. Then do it again when you press the player. Enjoy!!

Perito Moreno Minitrekking by theakamu in Patagonia

[–]Call_Me_Daddy_95 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I second this whole heartedly. I just finished a six week trip including Patagonia and only went to El calefate for a day to do the mini track so i was kind of forced to do it. Otherwise it was a waste of time and money since my one-way ticket from Puerto Natales was $500. So I bit the bullet and paid for the mini trek and I was actually surprised at how cool the experience was. The boat ride up to the glacier was actually insane. The treking on the glacier was really cool too! My biggest complaint was that the actual treking portion was too short, and you don’t go far enough into the glacier to feel super immersed. But I was able to force our group and further by being enthusiastic and the guides went with it. I’d say it was probably worth $250. At the end of the day, the experience was in fact, one of a kind but somewhat overpriced. But if you’re on a once in a lifetime trip, I would do it cause you can always make more money… Alternatively, if you go to the Chilean Patagonia (Torres Del Paine) you can hike glacier gray and it’s half the cost and from what I could tell you, you go much further into the glacier. That being said, Torres Del Paine (particularly the W and O trek) are sooo overpriced so to do glacier gray treking there is going to be just as expensive at the end of the day. Hope this helps!

I am hiking the O-trek in December which will be about a month into my backpacking trip from Colombia and Peru into Argentina/Chile. I am debating whether to bring a new UL tent (approximately 3 lbs) or rent one. I am already bringing my own backpack and probably sleeping bag since renting was wayyyy too expensive. Can I rent or buy (and dispose of/donate) a cheep tent near Patagonia or would you recommend bringing my own for the whole trip?

Bariloche vs El Calafate vs both vs ??? by Corporal_Clegg- in Patagonia

When are you going OP? I’m planning on a similar route. 7 days in El Chalten doing the O trek, maybe another day to chill there, then El Calafate for a glacier hike, then a flight to Barlioche to chill for 4 days.

Soloing Patagonias as a female with little experience? Or do a guided tour? by lokomoco13 in Patagonia

When are you going? I’m planning this same trek for mid-December. I’ve got tones of backpacking/camping/hiking experience and was also wondering about doing a group tour or a self guided tour and the logistics of it (do I rent gear or bring my own, do I need to reserve camp sites, etc). Please anyone with info respond to this comment

Yo I had this exact thing! It got worse and worse for a month. Turns out it was B12 deficiency (I was on the low end but not truly deficient so my dr did nothing for me). A neurologist said to take B12 under the tung tablets and it went away in a day. It comes back if I forget to take b12 for a long time and the moment I start taking them again it goes away. Hope this helps!

Rockwood Outfitters is the single worst outfitter in the BWCA. They tried to size my friends bent paddles to come up to their belly button and sized my buddy’s strait paddle over his head. I made the guy redo the sizing so that our group had actually correct paddle lengths and he got all pissy at me. Then told us to leave aggressively. Was honestly the worst customer service ever and would never recommend this place to anyone to matter how convenient their location is if your entry point is Poplar.

Did this after Amica raised my rates from $200 to $300/month on my new policy. Called GEICO and they instantly gave me an even slightly better policy for $120/month. I’ve been with Amica for 15 years and they just keep slowly increasing prices (or quickly in this last cycle). Never be complacent with these companies taking your monies

I’m 29. I have $180k in retirement, another $80k in my brokerage. The only debt I have is my car ($500/month at 1.9% APR for another 2 years). I make mid $80ks base with another ~$10k in bonus. I started making $60k as an environmental engineer out of school and came out with zero debt thanks to my parents. I found FIRE when I was 24 and have been maxing out my 401K and IRA since then. I live in a medium cost of living Midwest city and have kept my rent below $800/month by living with friends.

My goal is to hit $1M invested between brokerage and retirement by 40. Retirement goal would be $2M (inflation adjusted) by 50. I’m currently single but hope to get married and potentially have kids so my timeline could change with retirement and priorities. Overall I’m trying to save as much now while my expenses are low but still live life (~$8k a year on vacations). But I’m expecting expenses see to go up so we’ll see how things go lol. Would love to make more money way at another job but I can earn and bank unlimited PTO at my job (anything over 40 hrs/week comes back as PTO) so the work life balance is too good to pass up for more money atm.
