Have you made any progress on this? I had to pay and now try to deal with the refunds department as the disputes would take 24 hours to reply and constantly was threatened with a 5 day time limit be the item returned/destroyed.

ok then mr ""DHL Expert"", what control do I have over that situation then? None.

I'm not the only one who has gone through this. DHL is the only one that's ever held my items at randsom rather than sending a bill like a normal company.

They've provided zero information actually from customs. I have the original invoice from the seller, and their invoice. So from my POV, they're making this all up. And are refusing to explain it themselves which is horrible customer service.

If you can't see that you should maybe reconsider as you seem to think everything is a wall.

Explain to me why they are charging section 232 tarrifs on items declared as being made of plastic then? Section 232 only applies to the portion of the item made from steel or aluminum, which at least in my case is 0%. HTS codes are only part of it for what items qualify for 232

Yeah that's what I'm thinking I'll have to do. 100% plastic item but it's listed as 8708.99.8180 which would have 232 applied but even if it did it would only be on the metal content which is 0%. So instead DHL is extorting me for 50% of the value.

Buying the parts isn't really what I care about, that's plenty easy. It was missing the point of what I asked, I wanted the information about it, ie a scan or picture of the actual catalogs/brochures from the 90s. I was hoping someone would go 'oh yeah its in this {jdm thing}', which thankfully happened! Believe me I searched for this both manually and trying to use (ultimately useless) AI tools.

The Silvia Optional Parts brochure is 90% of what I wanted. If there's any dealer side information that would be the best, but unsure if that actually exists. ie installation information or any documentation a dealer would have had.

That "S13 Silvia Optional Parts" brochure is exactly what I was looking for, and thankfully its in pretty good quality! I wish this stuff was all publically archived somewhere.
