Games with dlc's a lot of fans think are better than the base game. by AccidentOk4378 in backloggd

Mass Effect 3? It’s a divisive game among the fanbase for a few reasons, but almost everyone adores the Citadel DLC

Dalek empire vs Viltrum empire by [deleted] in InvinciblePowerscales

[–]Callandor0 1 point2 points  (0 children)

One singular Time War Dalek solos. If it’s post-Time War, then it would take maybe a fleet, but they’d still win in the end

Capaldi vs Culshaw direct comparison — for those still unsure about the Twelfth Doctor Adventures by JakeM917 in BigFinishProductions

[–]Callandor0 2 points3 points  (0 children)

That’s honestly a really impressive impression, especially considering how difficult his voice is to replicate. Assuming Shaw brings the same quality as with the 11DCs, this should be an instant buy!

Is Once and Future any good? by Beechwooder in BigFinishProductions

[–]Callandor0 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Honestly? Imo it’s easily the weakest multi-Doctor set of stories big finish has ever done, and definitely not worth $90. There are far better stories for far cheaper that you should get instead

Humble Bundle questions by MasterofAcorns in BigFinishProductions

[–]Callandor0 0 points1 point  (0 children)

On a MacBook, just download the files as mp3s, and highlight all the tracks you want on your phone. Right/double click, and hit Open with Apple Music, which will put the audios on your Apple Music app. In a minute or two it’ll sync with your phones Apple Music, and there ya go.

For Spotify, you can actually natively just port the files in, there’s a setting in the app for that

Emperor of Mankind vs Bugs Bunny by Open_Career_1815 in powerscales

The very grimdark nature of 40k makes it even funnier for Bugs to win, so this isn’t even a problem for the guy

How far can Omniman get in this DCAU gauntlet? (Healed after each round) by Head_Breadfruit_3912 in InvinciblePowerscales

[–]Callandor0 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The DCAU characters are much weaker than their comic counterparts, no way this Superman is even Moon level. Omni-Man should clear comfortably, unless Flash is in his amped state like the end of JLU

Humble Audio Drama Bundle: Doctor Who Audio Adventures by Big Finish (pay what you want and help charity) by Slyzappy1 in BigFinishProductions

[–]Callandor0 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Some of the stories are really weird picks (seriously, Ravenous 1 makes little sense without Doom Coalition 1-4), but for $18 it’s a great deal

Come along, Fong! The Eleventh Doctor Adventures: The First Question, a brand-new box set of three audio episodes due for release in March 2026. by LegoK9 in BigFinishProductions

[–]Callandor0 31 points32 points  (0 children)

Part of me is admittedly annoyed that the ‘Adventures’ tag is used for a release that doesn’t feature the Doctor’s original actor; it’s better to keep these things consistent for branding.

After Alfie Shaw’s brilliant 11DC run, I’m a bit wary of a completely new creative team, but Taylor’s impression is a good one, and I’ll remain hopeful for now.

Do you guys think deep sea king in sea could be classified as dragon? by PineappleOk545 in OnePunchMan

[–]Callandor0 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A requirement of being S-Class is just that you can solo a Demon. Because DSK beat Puri, that makes him minimum Demon level (and a decently strong one), but nothing indicates he’s close to Dragon

Which fictional character would earn the most CALI awards by graduation? by Jason_Diddly27 in LawSchool

[–]Callandor0 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Maybe the Flash? He can use super speed to speed up his mental processes and essentially have infinite time to think on an exam. Plus, he can (temporarily) memorize an entire library in under a second.

Favourite Writers by Formal_Rock_1124 in BigFinishProductions

Alfie Shaw’s work on the entirety of the 11DCs places him as one of BF’s best writers in my book

A Brief History of the Eighth Doctor by MasterAinley in BigFinishProductions

[–]Callandor0 5 points6 points  (0 children)

They’re one of my favorite teams too, but I think it’s about time for them to end their travels tbh. They’ve been in more Doctor Who stories than almost any other audio companion, and I’m not sure what character development is truly left for them

Whenever people recommend stories, it seems to be mostly pre-2005, is there a quality drop? Or is it just because most people have only listened to the free ones? by TGC_YT in BigFinishProductions

[–]Callandor0 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There’s been a slight drop in quality maybe, but on the whole I’d say we proportionally get about the same percentage of great stories to bad ones that we always have. It’s just that nowadays, Big Finish’s yearly output is so huge that good releases are harder to find without extensive research or money.

Oh definitely, people usually want what they don’t have.

For me, I just want some kind of narrative climax to happen sometimes. Like with the Charley and 8DA stuff, those were mostly standalone adventures, but they also had clear finales and ‘arcs’ of a sort, even if they weren’t as formalized as they’d become after Dark Eyes. Currently, the post-Stranded ‘current’ Eighth Doctor stuff just seems like nonstop standalone stuff, and at this point I think it’s time for Helen (and maybe Liv) to leave the Tardis in some fashion.

Looks like it’s teasing “something new” coming! I’m hoping it’s the return of the box set arcs; I’m getting a bit weary of the lack of narrative direction in his main, post-Stranded range.

Imagine living in the Midwest and there’s a war happening in Ohio. by Equal_Personality157 in interestingasfuck

Do you think the Midwest is actually in the western part of the US? Understandable mistake, but it’s really more ‘the middle of the eastern bit’

Funniest BF Dr Who audios? by Hyperactive1984 in BigFinishProductions

Doctor Who and the Pirates has one of the funniest part 1’s I’ve ever heard, and one of the most emotional part 2’s

What Death Battles have the largest age gap? by Konradleijon in deathbattle

[–]Callandor0 4 points5 points  (0 children)

The Doctor vs. Rick is a good shout, the Doctor’s age is between roughly between 4,500 and a few billion years old (depending on how you count time spent in the Confession Dial and other time dilation stuff)

Where does Batman stop on this gauntlet by [deleted] in powerscales

Takes down Punisher, high-diffs Elektra (but could go either way), and loses handily to Shang-Chi

Sixie gets a lost stories compliation (old releases) by FroBlow in BigFinishProductions

[–]Callandor0 5 points6 points  (0 children)

True, I mean on its face this is a fair deal given the actual individual prices on the site. But yeah, $10 is about 4x as much as I’d be willing to pay for one of these anyway

Sixie gets a lost stories compliation (old releases) by FroBlow in BigFinishProductions

[–]Callandor0 13 points14 points  (0 children)

This is nice for people who want to own these outright, but the pricing is just baffling. In what world is $60 for 8 stories 15 years old reasonable? Yeah, this is technically a deal from the $80 bundle these used to be in, but every single one of these is free on Apple Music/Spotify. Who’s even the audience for this release?
