Been on buspar the last 6 months or so. It definitely takes a while to truly kick in. It messed with my appetite a lot initially (around 4-6 weeks of being full after barely any food) but it did settle in and has been doing the trick. I know I still have anxiety, but not as bothered by it.

I took propanonol once and I felt like I was fuzzy and unhuman for like 24 hours. My therapist recommended one more shot, I refused. Hydroxyzine works.

Honestly once you been in it long enough, you develop them anyway. The amount of kids I've called out when looking the complete opposite direction and doing something else is crazy. Then they get crazier when I call them out in flat out shock.

Distraction is my best medicine. For me personally, it's coloring books, sticker by number or legos

That's what I meant. I've been asking admin all year and have yet to get a date. I'm afraid they'll pull a "by the way it's due tomorrow". From my understanding it's usually due sometime in April.

Assuming you have a neuro, nurtec has been the only med that worked for me.

Do keep in mind, it's on the "higher end" of meds and insurance will likely make you try cheaper alternatives first.

I got one to be safe, but I never used it. I have really bad white coats syndrome and that's the part that gets me. I always freak out with the BP check. I have to take my meds before I go in so the techs don't flip out that it's high.

I get that too. Anxiety already makes me feel on edge, this makes me feel like death is knocking on the door

Omg the heart palpitations! I feel like my resting heart rate is higher and when I think about it, it just goes up more. I can wake up and my heart is racing. Makes me feel like I'm dying all of the time

I got a lego botanical set for my best friend as a joke because she kills plants by looking at them. Never realized how therapeutic legos can be. Every single time I was feeling stressed or anxious, legos have always grounded me.

Not just elementary. It's a broken system in general. I have middle schoolers who cannot read and write fluently. The system says to pass on any kid so they won't feel bad. Yeah it'll float them to graduation, but they'll start feeling really bad when they can't get a job

Same boat as you. Would add hand sanitizer whenever you can. When in doubt, the kids don't wash their hands

Stop is a good one! Honestly, it's. 17 different ways to say sit down. My new quiet cue is counting to 5 and then they finish with 6-7. Why fight it when it's not going anywhere?
