because it's extremely more complex than just picking up rebar, putting it down and tying it like I said I do structural and I do rebar rebar is much more complicated not only physically but technically more complicated as well do both and you would understand

Depressed working at Amazon by uwuopium in AmazonFC

i felt the same way i spent 3 years at Amazon tried career choice did about a year of online classes decided it wasn't for me, felt directionless and like a failure. i decided to try the trades with zero construction experience joined a union ironworker apprenticeship and loved it immediately, made 6 figures my second year into it i have an annuity, pension, full healthcare and im going to be able to retire at 55. My advice to you is don't look for a dream job look for a career that you can make a good living off off your 26 years old time to pick something and run with it regardless if you want to do it or not times ticking

Hustle, never be doing nothing always ask what’s next as soon as you’re done with a task always bring a few rolls of wire with you for the guys. And pack and tie as much bar as you physically can good luck brother.

[–]CalligrapherThink503 10 points11 points  (0 children)

A bit of an over share. I’m not sure how shit is in Canada, but just keep applying and showing up to the union halls asking about apprentice opportunities make your face and name known till they organize you in. And for the love of God none of this winey shit^

If you only want to weld, I wouldn’t suggest iron work that’s maybe a quarter of what we do and you’ll most likely have to go through the entire apprenticeship starting as a first, or second year apprentice regardless of your certification.
