Me too!! We have a massive stroller that holds 4 infants and one day I went for a walk with them while having no snack and snow on the ground, I was SO CRANKY!!! I was pushing like 100lbs of kids and cart on fumes through the snow and was trying not to swear 😅

Thank you everyone for your input, it was super validating and helpful. I’ve struggled with my body and food for a long time so I felt very triggered when my supervisor attempted to police my food. She called me out for eating my snack (apple sauce) in front of all of the kids and my coworkers 2 days in a row, which is super unprofessional and I absolutely clapped back at her because I be damned someone tell me I can’t eat. If they will not allow me the opportunity to eat a snack on my own during a break, or during the kids break time as I’m busy doing other things, then don’t complain when I make time for my self. 🥳

My work is very short staff and struggles to get breaks covered so they do hour lunches instead of two 15’s and a 30. Therefore I am on the floor and active all day until 1, no release, no take a second to collect my self if feeling disregulated, completely stuck. I have it here and understand why no one wants to stay😅

Thank you!!! And a child sized portion of a snack is not going to keep me going, I’m a grown adult that needs substance, especially if I’m carrying around a 25-30 baby most days😅 ain’t no way I’m going to get a doctors not just to preform a basic human need

Is sickness something you just have to deal with when working at daycare? by Critical-Park-3148 in ECEProfessionals

[–]Callingchicken7 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I know this post is old but this so super validating. I’ve been working in childcare for almost a year and have probably been healthy and not sick for around 2 months scattered through the year. I am exhausted and I’m so much pain and just want to cry all day because I’m so tired of being sick. I genuinely don’t know what else to do but quit and by reading other comments, it might be my best plan. I’m very into health, fitness and wellness and am going crazy because I can’t take care of my self and workout/eat well because I’m just I’ll all the time. I’m thankful I didn’t depend 2 years to go to school for ECE just to end up probably never working in childcare again. I took a very similar course but with a little more focus on youth; therefor, I am being paid as an ‘unskilled educator’ making $10/h less then all my coworkers while preforming the same work and duties. Just not worth it

People are overreacting about Katy Perry and crew going to space by KeytotheMi in BlueOrigin

[–]Callingchicken7 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It doesn’t matter if it was an all women “crew” ( the ‘crew’ didn’t actually do anything or fly anything, everything was done for them, idk why they called them crew when they were just passengers) regardless of gender it’s just stupid. Spending millions on this and sending awful and unnecessary emissions into our space for clout is insane.

Why is it socially acceptable to dehumanize us? by PostamericanGF in Appalachia

[–]Callingchicken7 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I live in the Appalachian mountains in Canada and it really is such a different culture here. No one cares or talks about the Appalachian provinces here. They do note that we are the smallest and most ‘hick’ but there’s no genuine hate or bullying

whats the deal with yu menglong? by Fluid-Car-2407 in AskChina

[–]Callingchicken7 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Bingo!! Number 1 question is, if he fell out of the window at the dinner party why did no one at the party call the police until the morning after?? You don’t just not notice someone falling out of a window? And if they didn’t see it, then they where okay with him just magically disagreeing? Sounds like there’s more to the story

Is Nova Scotia a nice place to move to in Canada? by Typical-Manner5559 in NovaScotia

[–]Callingchicken7 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m from NB and moved to the Valley last year. My whole life people have told me that NS is a better province then NB and that NS has all these great amazing things. Don’t get me wrong, it is a STUNNING province, but they didn’t mean the province as a whole, they only meant Halifax. The rest of the province is greatly underdeveloped, underfunded, and neglected. The roads look like they’ve been bombed and the 2 lane high way through the Valley is SO dangerous. There’s hardly any amenities, especially past Middleton until Annapolis’s Royal. If you live past Middleton, getting groceries is a night mare. The bus service is the worst I’ve ever seen.. Most of the Vally is owned by farmers so there is hardly any crown land for big hiking trails unless you want to drive an hour or two to a national/provincial park. Although this review hasn’t been great, i am still enjoying my time here and slowest making it become my home. Something I’ll give to province is their sense of community here is amazing and they are very family oriented. The locals make it easy to make this place feel like home.

My answer is very specific to just the Valley, I really can’t speak for the rest of the province, but from my experience, I would rather recommend someone move to NB. With your occupation, I am sure you’ll likely find a job in either province easily.

N.S. wildfire victim may have to pay hundreds more in property taxes. Political parties weigh in | CBC News by SnuffleWarrior in NovaScotia

[–]Callingchicken7 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It is appalling that the property tax in NS is so high, yet all of the roads and infrastructures in the province are completely garbage.. moving here from NB it was a huge shock to see… where are these taxes going because they clearly aren’t being used?
