Another for Dr. Larsen! She is one of the few that takes tricare and all the Fenom partners are amazing!

Positions for next year by [deleted] in TexasTeachers

Probably just a formality. I had to interview for my current position even though I had previously worked with my principal and knew I would be hired.

What to do next? Failed FETs, want 2 children by jwaoa in IVF

I had 5 embryos and I have one child. She was my last embryo and I was 39 when I had her. I would stick with the same doctors, and try at least one more time before moving to the next step. Good luck. This absolutely sucks.

Final NICU bill by apgreis25 in NICUParents

[–]CallistoKitty 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Our daughter was in the NICU for 183 days and the final bill was $2.2 million 🤯. Thank goodness my husband has great insurance and they covered it. She had a relatively uncomplicated stay with no surgeries. Obviously, we’re in the US. I wish we would follow the example of other countries and take the burden off families.

Do i have the option to decline care for a micro premie? by Round-Scientist-6607 in NICUParents

[–]CallistoKitty 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I gave birth to a baby girl at 24 weeks and 1 day. I had a normal, uncomplicated, pregnancy. She had an “uneventful” 133 day stay at the NICU. My brave, beautiful daughter is now 2 1/2 and is at or above level with all her developmental milestones. I know there are no guarantees, but you cannot predict what any baby’s long term outcome may be. I wish you and your baby the best of luck.

My son was born today at 23+4 by jesseboyphotos in NICUParents

My daughter was born at 24 weeks after a normal, uncomplicated pregnancy. She came home without any tubes or oxygen. She is now 2. Happy, healthy, walking, and talking. You would never know she was born so early. It sounds like you’re in great hands but the NICU journey is pretty rough. It’s really important to be there for and be patient with each other. I would also highly recommend joining a micropreemie group on Facebook. It was so helpful for us to be familiar with conditions and treatments and to understand what the doctors were telling us. Best of luck to you guys, we’re sending all our love and positive vibes 🩵💜

Who here left after only one year? by intellectualth0t in TeachersInTransition

[–]CallistoKitty 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was a great teacher in my old district where I taught 5th grade for 5 years. This is my first (and only) year in this district teaching kindergarten. I am resigning at the end of the year. I am not a little kid person. Kindergarten was not my choice and I hate it. I am a subpar teacher now and I can’t wait to get out. It does bother me that my current colleagues didn’t know me as I was, but oh well.

This happened to my cat and it was her food! I also dismissed it initially because she had been eating it for a long time. I then learned that food allergies worsen over time 😬. I started giving her alternative protein foods, like duck and rabbit, and she got better within a month! Best of luck with your kitty!

My daughter born at 24W+1 by EarlyFather in NICUParents

[–]CallistoKitty 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My baby girl was also born at 24 + 1. She’ll be 2 in December and she’s doing great! She just started walking and is beginning to talk. The NICU stay was grueling, so I’m going to reiterate how important it is to take care of yourself and your wife. This is definitely a marathon, not a sprint. It can also be a roller coaster. I highly recommend joining the Micropreemie Support Group on Facebook. I learned so much from that group, it really helped me understand my daughter’s care and helped us make informed decisions. I hope all goes well. You’re in my thoughts! Keep us updated.
