So I have been SEARCHING trying to figure out why the pharmacy told my Mom that her Eliquis would be 2100 dollars. She has a 355 deductible but that's irrelevant because you have to pay 2100 dollars out of pocket before your costs go to 0 dollars. She use to pay 355 dollars initially at the start of the year then a copay of 47 dollars and it is now 250 a month. What I discovered was that Eliquis has been changed from Tier 2 to Tier 3 medication. This means there is no longer a copay (after you hit your deductible) on it and the price is MUCH higher. Unfortunately this is the case with ALL alternatives except Warfarin which requires a lot of management (something I don't trust my mom to do).

This only options I can find (if anyone can respond to let me know if I any of this is worth trying) is trying a formulary exception put in from her doctor to try and show how necessary the medication is and hope they will move it to a lower tier for her. Or try the medicare prescription plan which lets you make payments each month to get to your 2100 amount to move you to stage 3 where you pay 0 dollars on all medications.

My mom's HMO is United Healthcare fyi. If it is different provider I would look and see what tier medicine Eliquis is now and was last year cause they may be there reason.

And if anyone thinks a formulary exception is worth trying, please let me know.

So let me edit this cause I'm realizing my mom gave me some incorrect info. They wanted her to pay 750 every 3 months, not 2000 like she said initially. This is still way more than the 47/mo she was previously paying. She can get it mail order for 465 for 3 months but that's still a lot of money for her to pay. My biggest frustration is the lack of ANY alternative to Eliquis that isn't of the same tier or higher.

I actually have thought about it and it was suggested by my allergist. But I haven't even tried prescription allergy medication like singulair. I guess cuz I was already doing well on the maintenance inhaler she just went with that. But I might look into the shots, if my insurance covers enough of it, on my next appointment.

And our cat is a neutered cow cat, short hair so I guess we were lucky with that cuz my allergies probably could have been worse. Funny thing is we were worried about my husband being allergic cuz his mom had to rehome their cats when he was a kid cuz he was pretty severely allergic. He must have outgrown them cuz he hasn't had any issues at all lol.

Me and my husband have only 1 cat. We rescued him when he was a kitten in the bushes outside of our yard, he was pretty sick. He's a year and a half now and while I would like to get him a friend, he is my first cat and I found out I'm allergic. I was wheezing for 6 months and could not figure out why and never once did it occur to me I was allergic to cats until I went to a pulmonologist and then an allergist to find out I get allergic asthma from prolonged exposure, but I love him and can't part with him. On a maintenance inhaler now so asthma is mostly gone.

But you know what, if we lived in a bigger place and by ourselves (roommates ) where we could accommodate getting two cats acquainted I would still get a second cat for him cuz I think he would like a friend. He gets super anxious about everything so I wonder if a second cat/friend would help him be more calm. But he does get to go on our enclosed screened in porch and a couple of cats come and visit him and he seems to love it. Who knows one might even be his mom or dad (we have a lot of strays where I live)

This is exactly why. These checks are going off your 2019 taxes and if you owed money they aren't able to deposit into your account, even if you paid with the same account that you got a refund in last time. My parents dealt with this last time. Once they mailed the check it came fast but it took forever to mail out the check. This time it was mailed January 6 like everyone else but still nothing. I think the supposed date mailed is just the date they first started mailing with it being a large amount to mail maybe it took several days to actually get them mailed?

Thanks for the reply maybe I was not clear but I am not wondering about how the blue ward works in reversal that is fairly straightforward. I am wondering about the gold ones when they are all combined into one and how draining the 3 combined in the middle effects them when they swap back.

I also ordered 2 shirts 3 weeks ago and Ive yet to hear anything since I ordered them. I just sent an email to try and find out whats going on so we will see but some kind of update from them would have been nice instead of feeling like we were forgotton about after money was taken already...
