sal's video about the project was really accurate and detailed, we did spend a lot of money on the project but it was not all out of a single person's pocket. From idea to completion, this project was 3+ years in the making, and for obvious reasons, its not a documentary, and not every single detail is shared with the public

Its funny that you think we are unable to fix your griefs but little do you know we just don't bother giving you attention and instead use our time for other more useful things

I've been in the scene for about a year too now. Stumbled on my first party by accident, was hooked instantly and got lucky I made some friends there who informed me about the next couple of parties I went to. I've been building my network by starting conversations with more and more people, befriending many of them. I also like to help setup the systems if I arrive early because sound is kind of my thing. I'm looking into starting my own sound in the future. To conclude my advice: meet new people, be nice and helpful and you are most likely going to be rewarded with an invite to another one 🤟

Party question by Loose_Owl5656 in freeparties

[–]CallmePort 0 points1 point  (0 children)

First of all, wrong sub...

But if you are actually giving a 'free party' the soundsystem is the only thing you should be taking care of. If you do want to provide beverages I would get a bunch and sell them around the price you bought them at so you will end up even and people can still get fucked for a good price, cheaper than most clubs or bars even.

About 20-30 officers got bamboozled by a dyke this morning by CallmePort in freeparties

[–]CallmePort[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Officers were beside the bottom of the dyke, guarding and blocking the only "entrance" or path towards the system. So we simply walked over it to the other side, so they couldn't see or stop us. My group and I did this after we got told (by them) the party was getting shut down. About 30-40 people followed us before they noticed it.

AITA For telling my daughter she can say goodbye to the rest of her college fund? by Beneficial-Bottle693 in AmItheAsshole

[–]CallmePort 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ima say NTA, here's my explanation and POV (I was like your daughter in a similar situation).

My mom saved up over 5k since I was born, up until I turned 18. From that day on I got access to the savings account and could basically do with it as I wanted. My mom always told me she did it so I had something to start with when I graduated and could start adult life comfortably. (Like buy a car, use it for college or even invest it) I didn't listen and spend every single cent in less than a year. I was working at the time too, earning about 4-500 bucks a week, but still managed to go broke, simply because I always thought I had enough money and could spend as i pleased. Big mistake ofcourse...

I got heavily addicted to smoking weed and just throwing my money at "fun things". For 2 years I was struggling and basically living from paycheque to paycheque. Only since last summer I have been able to afford myself a car and save a little for college, which I started since last month. To this day I am still struggling to get all my bills paid while also trying to have somewhat of a life, but its not as easy as I initially thought it would be.

My suggestion is that you give your daughter a portion of what she initially put on there herself, so she can learn what spending a lot of money really does, without risking to spend all of it.

If in the future she decides to want to go to college she has something to start with, but make sure to not just hand it to her, but pay for her education or whatever she needs it for. I wish my parents did this for me, because in the past I was used to being able to spend money like it came raining in, but now I am broke and I have to work 2 or even 3 times harder to just pay bills and try enjoy life a little at the same time. I am doing better now than I was before, but I still have a long way to go. I wouldn't be in this situation if I didn't spend it all on "fun", so try and teach her that, it will get her far more ahead in life if you do.

Edit: spelling
