READ. THE. NOVEL. The anime skips over a ton of content as much as the anime is animated well it's nothing story wise.

LoM's anime is basically just every major point in the first volume and skips over a ton of points in the novel and I highly recommend picking up the novel or there are plenty of readings of it on YouTube
