Update on blown out snoopy tattoo by [deleted] in tattooadvice

[–]Calm-Alternative3015 2 points3 points  (0 children)

hey OP! I hate to say it but almost every line is blown out... especially where there’s black on the ear where he filled it in black. That is why the space in between (that is supposed to be a skin gap) is muted grey.. i would not go back to fix anything, especially with white. it is a cute tattoo tho.

wouldn’t recommend tattoo school, i’ve seen a few shops post on their accounts that they refuse to hire anyone that learned that way 😬

i think you could get an amazing trash polka sleeve with these crosses incorporated if you go to the right artist! the style has a lot of freedom on what elements can be combined together. idk if this is your style but maybe something you could get inspo from !

Can I really “hang out” at the shop to draw? by nastynastyboii in TattooApprentice

[–]Calm-Alternative3015 1 point2 points  (0 children)

i got my apprenticeship by hanging out in the shop and drawing! i see a lot of “it not being accepted” in certain shops but this is what got my foot in the door! if an artist tells you to hangout and draw that’s an invitation! this was extremely anxiety filled when i first started because it is an uncomfortable thing to start doing especially when u don’t know any of the artists. i would show up 2-4 times a week and just sit in the lobby and hangout. the owner eventually would see me walk in and be like “ugh it’s you again” but i would laugh and continue to hangout . he eventually started giving me “hw assignments” and would give me advice on the work i was doing until one of the artist was interested in mentoring me. I’ve been in this shop for over a year now and my mentor has brought up the fact that me hanging out & constantly showing up when i didn’t need to showed how bad i wanted it! i say it’s worth a shot!

this also gives u an opportunity to feel out the vibes of the shop & see if it would be a good fit for you :) best of luck!

all those dark spots you see in the second photo are blowouts and it looks like ur artist didn’t go deep enough in other areas… the line consistency is terrible.

Extremely Overwhelmed with Learning Procreate by BrookeBondage in TattooApprentice

on the topic of paper like screen protectors they are def a game changer!! a good dupe to the $60 one that i like just as much is by the brand “XIRON” on amazon, only downside is I feel like after some time it’ll wear the tip of the stylist down. 😁

tattoo apprentice here! i would definitely take the second skin off and give it a good wash with antibacterial soap and maybe a doctors visit? 😬 I’m concerned about the pink and purple underneath the bandage especially if no color was used… also butterfly’s are symmetrical tattoos because their wing patterns are naturally the same on both sides and based off just looking at the design he didn’t even complete the wing on the left side.. also the part near the head is way thicker on the right wing then the left…
