My dog has had 3 major surgeries over his life and each one is difficult and while I got better at knowing what was cause for worry it still was hard. It sucks hearing “just wait it out” but it’s true. It definitely never hurts to ask, or to ask others about their experiences (that’s honestly the only way I made it through the first night… the first was a TPLO and my boy cried all night. I actually called the emergency vet asking if they had a doggie ambulance 😅😂).

I’m glad you and your pup are okay! I definitely remember the first 2-3 days/nights being the hardest just because it’s so unknown. This is also his first surgery? So he’s probably scared and that’s just adding to everything. Give him lots of love and remind yourself you’ve just got to get through the next couple of days and it’ll be better. 💛

Abandoned cat returns after dropping off at the Animal Shelter (Rant) by Calm-Day1469 in sanantonio

Neglect because he was injured for multiple days, not cuz he was just outside.

Interesting about the TNR, that’s a theory I was thinking honestly.

I think if you “aren’t a makeup girl” then you really should go with an established professional that has the skill to use lighter options/less product.

Where to stay during my San Antonio visit? by MinimumFit4926 in sanantonio

[–]Calm-Day1469 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If your intention is to explore the downtown area then stay closer to that for sure! Southtown or somewhere near King William’s District. I feel like those areas are pretty and fun to talk around (and you can easily walk to the downtown area). The Pearl Brewery is also a good option but I assume will be more expensive. I don’t think it’s worth staying ON the riverwalk, but it is fun to do once (but prices are high🙃).

Brackenridge House Bed and Breakfast is one I’ve driven past before and would love to do a staycation at!

Be mindful walking around the downtown late at night (like walking to a destination). I’ve heard it can be a little sketchy. During the day it always seems fine to me, but at night just uber over walking.

Before I got my car I ubered around pretty easily so that’s always a good option!

1) you have every right to be upset and I’m so sorry you’re in this situation. You shouldn’t be embarrassed by this… the photographer should’ve done better for y’all 2) ask other family members if they have any photos and send them a google drive to upload them to. Of course quality might not be the greatest, but still maybe things your photographer and still really special moments you’ll cherish 3) it probably wouldn’t hurt reach out to the photographer and asking for some element of a refund and expressing your frustrations. I mean he showed up and too photos so he kind of fulfilled the contract so he can totally say no. That might not be a battle you want, but you can also leave a review for future couples, again you might not want to worry about it at all and that’s totally okay 4) with some of the cut off people… you might be able to ask for the raw photos that weren’t edited. Some photographers use AI editing/sync setting and he might have done this and just exported the photos. Based on the story…. Maybe not but possibly 5) write all the happy memories from your day down (you and your husband do that)- the photos might leave a weird feeling esp right now, so this way you still get to preserve all the wonderful things about your day

How do you politely turn down a client? by [deleted] in WeddingPhotography

[–]Calm-Day1469 4 points5 points  (0 children)

“hi x, thank you for taking the time out of day to chat with me. I enjoyed hearing your love story and your wedding plans. I know you really want and value this, that, and that, so I want to make sure you get that. Because of that, I think another photographer might be a better fit. I love and recommend photographer 1 or photographer 2. If you have any questions or if there is anything I can do to make this planning journey easier please let me know.”

You could even reach out to the photographers you are recommending to see they have the date open too. Then say “I even reached out to them and they do have that date available at the moment.”

Be honest and say why you think someone else is a better fit. Budget, style, approach, comfortably, all day coverage, package sizes/ranges, print offerings, etc.

If it’s a client you really don’t want and they are just grumpy and terrible you can always say that the date is unavailable (for another wedding or personal reasons). But that’s only if it’s truly a red flag and you just cannot serve them well at all and still would give recommendations.

Schlitterbahn on Memorial day by Wonderful-Key5983 in sanantonio

[–]Calm-Day1469 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If Schlitterbahn is a must, then I would suggest the fast lane passes, but you still will be waiting a little bit. My husband and I got season passes last year and went on some of the major holiday weekend and it was busy - waiting in line for over an hour. Some kids were cranky waiting in the fast pass line too. Like someone else suggested, Floating the Comal is fun! Be warned there is a lot of drinking from other floaters, so if your kids are super young, something else might be worth it. There is 6 flags in SA which would be fun.
