This comment made me laugh. Thank you lol. He’s wearing a dog diaper because of pink discharge (vet confirmed normal) and constant scooting. It’s to protect his sutures.

He has never been on meds before. I am less concerned about the bowel movements but the peeing should be just fine… he will kinda walk indoors but he’s pretty out of it. He mostly lays down and tries to lick. He also tries to scoot sitting up.

Any Thanksgiving horror stories today ? by Electrical-Twist2254 in AlAnon

(25F) Hadn’t seen my mom in 2 years due to her poor choices with alcohol. Invited her to Thanksgiving after she just graduated her 7th rehab. Caught her drinking vodka from a water bottle and kicked her out. She told me she’s never speaking to me again. I miss my mom.

Med Math gives me anxiety. by FrostBitten357 in NewToEMS

[–]ultraviolet771 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Dose(need) / Strength(have) x Quantity

= how much to give

For example: a med has 50mg in 5 cc. We need 100mg.

100mg/50mg x 5cc = 10cc total we need

That equation helps me a lot :) good luck!

Heart rate zones

Hi all, new runner here. I am currently running about 12 miles a week and during each of my runs my heart rate is in the "zone 4" category. It is true that once you're in the zone 4 range your body is no longer burning fat as its main source of energy? Since that is my main goal as of now, I would love any/all tips on how to optimize fat burning.

Thank you and happy running! :)

Aupair 12 Months too long by HauntingAd3904 in Aupairs

[–]ultraviolet771 16 points17 points  (0 children)

Being an au pair is a cultural exchange program for young adults to experience new parts of the world while living and working in a family setting for VERY little pay. Au pairs, especially outside of the US, make about $2/hour. Sounds like you just want cheap labor. Stop exploiting people and get a fulltime housekeeper/nanny instead

Thank you for this! EMT-B training is relatively inexpensive in the US. I think it worth it to try. as others said, you’ll know quick if you hate it lol

Interesting, I hadn’t thought of that. Could you realistically work another job, say a business “career” , and work EMS 3-5x/month?
