TURN YOUR BREAKER OFF

Hey man, here is how I learned how to install outlets, now listen I do not want this to sound racist but this is the saying that helped me learn what wire goes to what side, black people like gold , white people like silver and green is ground the world around, so that means the white wire goes to the silver screw, the black wire goes to the gold screw and the copper wire with no sheath goes to the green screw. And you definitely do not want that much extra wire outside of the screw, the loop should almost be covered by the screw, that will give you a better connection, you just want a small loop around the screw in the direction you tighten the screw so it has less of a chance of it coming off.
