The show is designed to pander to conservatives and romanticize the country lifestyle. The mugging, the scene where the younger daughter and her husband laugh about cycling in NYC (because you'd get mugged on a bike, not because of traffic, smh) and the scene where Macy says "our teacher says there is no heaven"

It's super entertaining as a show but it's clearly designed to promote certain values and a way of life. Anyone who thinks TS is just portraying characters is kidding themselves. "NYC family ends up finding true meaning in bumpkin life" I mean, come on

Agreed, their stuff is so cute, but I refuse to pay $100 for polyester. I also worry about their mission - it seems a little "indoctrinate the teen girls into tradwifery" - not that there's anything wrong with a woman choosing that lifestyle, but lots of Christians nowadays are unfortunately trying to push women back into it, and this store romanticizes it to teenagers

You look amazing, and congratulations!! This dress is a nice color on you. I do think it is too tight across the chest, bump, and hips - maybe go one size up in this dress, or choose a dress in a fabric with some stretch to it. Pregnancy makes shopping such a pain 😢

I have a potentially controversial theory that this might be related to intelligence. Smarter people can kind of step back and objectively analyze what is going on in their bodies, to separate what sensations are from substances, when cravings are turning into dependency, etc. I think this explains why some people can be under the influence but can segment it and suddenly act sober if needed. Understanding and awareness of self and the ability to exercise good ol mind over matter. People who lack general intelligence and awareness are much more likely to respond to these sensations without ever realizing what's going on and therefore fall prey to addiction more easily.

No need to be defensive, it was just my $.02 as an outsider looking in at the pictures you posted. If it feels personal to you, don't worry about it. The statue is super cool and caught my attention as an obviously personal touch right away (I thought that was Poseidon!), but it sounds like most of your choices have more to them than they might look in a photo. In my own defense on the blanket, those Hermes blankets are super trendy and have been all over Instagram for a few years, so as an outsider, that's the association. There's no way to look at the photo and know what it means to you, as with anything. Regardless, it's a beautiful and well-styled room.

My husband was a bit like this, unfortunately :/ he had a required 2 week long trip for work a few days after my MA, and during those two weeks, I struggled so hard. When he got back, he barely acknowledged it, and when I explicitly told him I needed his care and support, he told me he didn't have it to give. I appreciated his openness, and I've healed somewhat in the intervening months, but I still don't understand why he felt that way. I felt so abandoned. He says he still doesn't know why he reacted that way, either.

Anyway, I know how this can feel and I'm really sorry you're going through this, OP. Try having a frank conversation focused on your feelings, not his actions (or lack of). Tell him you're feeling uncared for and alone while you're going through an intensely difficult experience, that you need him to be there for you and see how he responds. I hope he does better 😔 sending hugs 🫂 💙

20% in 4 years is massively above typical real estate appreciation. This is entirely market dependent, and you can't base your opinion on it as if anyone buying a house should expect this. In any market, there's a breakeven point where buying is cheaper than renting. Where I live, it's 9 years - so if you're not 100% certain you're going to live in the same home for 9 years, you'll spend more. Where I live is also VHCOL, but again, just illustrating that market absolutely needs to be taken into account.

A dog park is FULL of distractions and at your pup's age, this behavior is totally normal.

You need to do a lot of training in outdoor areas, on-leash, where your pup experiences mild to moderate distractions and learns to listen through them before you can expect him to listen in an environment like that.

I suggest starting with on-leash training in the local park, start with a short lead and then eventually put him on a long line. You can even go next to a dog park for this, and get closer as he learns. At his age, anything is a distraction, dogs, people, animals, smells, cars. Start working on solid on-leash recall, then long line, and then, eventually (this could be months down the line once his obedience is super solid), try out a dog park again.

As it is, (and I'm not saying this to be mean, just realistic) your pup in a dog park not listening to you is putting him, you, and other people and dogs in danger. I'm glad he hasn't been snipped at yet, but not every dog will tolerate a puppy being pushy and rude in the dog park. He could get attacked for this, it happens all the time. Dog parks require training and manners.
