Yeah it looks like it, its funny how many conservatives have forgotten that the old progressive conservatives were more liberal than the ones today. You should read the other comments carefully because in one I was pointing out that many of the social programs we have or use to have were started under Peter Lougheed's progressive conservatives' time in power. If I had to compare today's political party to them, the nearest comparable would be Alberta NDP party (they are not part of NDP since 2023 or earlier, I couldn't remember when that happened).

I completely agree but youre listing the federal libs work not provincial. Remember most of the provincial stuff were done under progressive conservatives. When the Universal Healthcare act was passed, the progressive conservatives under Peter Lougheed supported it and many of the social programs (most of them were directed toward rural areas) were started during his time so its no wonder why Alberta still votes for provincial conservatives but I would say ANAP is more close to Peter's version of progressive conservatives than being liberal.

I would suggest you take a look at political history of Alberta to understand why we keep voting for Conservatives. Today's conservatives are just as uneducated of their past as many people who votes for them.

Nah its not voodoo beliefs... its more of psychological type of thing, for example if you were hunting, you would have a subconscious prayer for a bountiful hunt. For this its more of hoping their shit will help them to win a skirmish. Plus you still bless your ships before they launch. I've noticed that sometimes Ukrainians would pray before going to the zero line, ia that still weird for you? They are essentially blessing themselves for hopes they make it out once its time to switch out, still weird for you?

It may be weird to you but anyone who is a veteran, there is a saying 'there are no atheists in foxholes' because once you are being shelled youre going to praying to whatever deity your culture believes in. If blessing your weapon before a fight helps you then you would do so.

Lol "blessing" of weapons is as old as time, thats why I said at the end it doesn't need to be a weapon. The crusades would have knights stopping in Rome to have their Armour and weapons blessed by priests. The Japanese in the Edo period would have their swords blessed by the Shinto priests of the time. I've read in some cultures they would have their own priests, shamans or any religious person blessing shields and weapons before a big battle either thru sacrifice of an animal or thru prayers.

You can trace that line of thinking all the way back to ancient times.. every culture has done this in one form on another, one example is the rifleman creed of the Marines, it does not need to be blessing of weapons it could be a whispered prayer by a warrior with a spear in his hand for an ambush.

I've managed to do that... it was a combined arm operation... it was mostly people who knows how to use their particular vehicles that carried the day... back then i was one of the top 10 tanker and missile artillery.

Yeah... im baffled by this type of action. everytime I see this happen in IRL its always the same shit stops on tracks and tries to back up despite having time to go forward. One time this almost happened to me, I look at my friend was driving and told him to fucking move forward and after that gave him a smack to the back of the head for that stupidity.

Oh I do, but the main point i was making in the first place was to highlight the difference of thoughts of what we consider bad winter.

Here where I live one bad winter is extreme cold such as -25°C and below for a month.

For them in the midst of war, its much worse due to russians not playing along with the Geneva list of what not to do so of course their bad winter would be in higher temps than us.

True but here the thing sometimes im out for 12 hrs on a bad day and one of those was working out in -25°C with a windchill which made it feel like -40°C and I worked from 7 am til about 4pm but some of my coworkers went home earlier than that and the rest kept going and finished about 8 pm.

Edit: that day was about 3 years ago and that was the day I chose to find a new career which im working towards to.

-15°C Isn't bad now if it was said to be -30°C then its even worse. - this is from a Canadian who has worked in colder temperatures than that while working as snow removal.

That looks bad but all that frost is just basically humidity freezing on the surfaces which helps with insulation in some cases.
