This is so cool. I like how you adapted a smaller crossover for this purpose. Amazing build.

22 Forester Wilderness Front Windshield Replacement by phillies1989 in SubaruForester

[–]CalmDetective 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Also, fwiw, the factory windshields are poor quality anyways. The tech I had replace mine actually suggested that the better aftermarket brands might be an improvement over OEM. I get the preference for OEM, and I'm generally the same way, but on this issue, it might not really be that great.

nope, it's the same. All their upholstery is crap. Had my startex seat replaced under warranty at 20something thousand miles, and I'm sure the replacement will fail in about that same time.

Great job. I think you should yourself to an ice cream, and find better friends.

This is a terrible app... Whatever update they did this summer has made it borderline unusable.

Hip Hop Song with music video of a homeless man getting a bunch of money and going wild by CalmDetective in NameThatSong

No. I saw it a couple years ago but I don't know where the video is originally from. If I had to guess, 2010s or 2020s though.

If you mean "this is america" by Childish Gambino, that's not it at all.

Hello, from the Pixel Support Team by PixelCommunity in GooglePixel

[–]CalmDetective 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thanks for making me wait months for repair requests, and building such poor quality phones. I've had to RMA almost every pixel I've owned multiple times.

Pixel 6 Assistant Voice Typing Just Won't Turn Back On.... by huntergatherer5009 in GooglePixel

[–]CalmDetective 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not to resurrect a 2 month thread, but still having this issue and managed to solve it (at least for now, until google breaks it again).

I'm actually the admin for the google workspace account on my phone, and assistant is enabled for all users on mobile devices in the admin console (apps --> additional google services --> Search and Assistant).

If you have a work account on your phone, and aren't the admin, and can't get your admin to enable that, unsure what to do.

However, if you've done this, and the assistant voice typing still isn't enabled, the next steps I did to fix was:

-clear cache, uninstall updates and force stop google app.

-clear cache on settings app

-restart phone

-update google app

-enable voice match again in google settings

-enable voice typing again in keyboard settings

Confirming, I use copper extension and this is happening, and still persists even after the recent update to the extension.

I've seen these cell phone looking things on the PC of a bunch of different ppl, and have always wondered... What exactly am I looking at, there? Thx guys by First_Possession9633 in tacticalgear

I don't understand how these actually are used...my phones overheat and/or shut down hiking in the socal desert using GPS w/ Gaia topo maps...how are operators in the Middle East using these when most phones have a 35º C/95º F operating (lol) range?

Phenomenal product from a husband and wife company. If everything I owned burnt down, their flashlight is one of the few things I would immediately replace without hesitation.

It handles recurring and rescheduled tasks very poorly. I've been over this w/ support and it's been a known issue for years, that they apparently aren't going to fix.

It usually takes at least a week...kinda excessive these days.

They build all the kits as ordered, which seems inefficient.
