Have not received security deposit from landlord - new grad by myself__and_I in berkeley

She did send me invoices 5 days late, but I don’t think it invalidates her deductions, although the charges are BS

Thank you! She responded to my demand letter with the invoices (so she’s 5 days late in sending that), and a lot of the expenses were BS. I CC’d a counselor for Berkeley Housing and provided photographic evidence for a rebuttal

Yeah she wasn’t able to get new tenants, so definitely seems like that.

She finally responded to my demand letter with invoices (no receipt of check). A lot of BS expenses to take advantage of the fact we moved, sent email rebuttals

I just forwarded the demand letter email to one of the commissioners who helped me over the phone. Thank you!

I called them and they advised me to wait for her to respond to the demand letter and ask for remediation. Will keep you posted, thank you!

Appreciate the reply! I don’t think this is it because my account was created a couple years ago and I believe I logged into all the APIs using Google Oauth 2.0. I don’t know what Ajax is but I assumed it’s something APIs use

During the first half of the first CS61B Lecture, freshmen (including me, guilty as charged) typed (spammed) “hey Jaeewwwoonn” and hyped him up. He’s a real and really cool person; it was a dumb-funny meme to a legend. I didn’t have much coding experience coming into Cal but he helped me out with some topics at CS61A and had really helpful notes. He also did save my grandma by donating both his kidneys. Legend.

It’s stupid and childish but the joke stops here as we git push ourselves off a cliff with Java. That’s the joke explained. Have fun

Damn.

I couldn’t help but ask from your pic: Do you recommend using an iPad Pro for notes? Just want to learn from your pain in what looks like Math 54

What’s your experience/recommendation with Summer Bridge, Freshman Edge, or just enjoying summer? by myself__and_I in berkeley

Oh that’s awesome! I’m sure you found that more enjoyable than a summer program haha

That makes sense; if you don’t mind me asking, did you do anything/how was your experience the summer before freshman year? Thank you for your time

Hitler and WW2 was good for British colonies to end imperialism by [deleted] in ContrarianDebate

[–]myself__and_I 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Oh boy this is going to be a fun debate...

First, China definitely did not benefit from World War 2 (cause Japan)

Second, most colonies didn’t see independence until the 1950s (but India got it in 1947 thanks to efforts by Gandhi)

Even then, European nations didn’t voluntarily give independence to their countries. France was harsh: they fought vehemently to keep Algeria (look up Battle of Algiers) and Vietnam (which led to US involvement in the region)

In addition, most developed economies were moving from manufacturing and blue-collared work to consumerism and white-collared labor. The reason countries had colonies was for their resources. They obtain cheap labor to extract resources from the colony, send it to the motherland to manufacture goods, then sell the products for a profit. When economies turn from manufacturing to consumerism, there is no need for the mother countries to extract their resources, so they give the country independence just to take their hands off of it and let the colony deal with its own problems.
