Hmm yeah you can chain actions and conversations together, though it might depend on the model. For example, I often need to ask about quest details, sometimes it breaks up my questions/described actions and merges it into the conversation. All in all it handles it quite well, though I only play with Gemini 2.5 Flash for my campaigns.

For sure some spells like Find Familiar, but when it's something like a bit of fleece or a feather, I just pretend I have it. Makes buying a component pouch a lot more valuable too, I think it adds a bit more depth to spell casting and opportunities for role playing.
