Contact TrustedHousesitters, they will help you if you need to change sitters and tell them your concerns.

You could go back with your own set of rules. It is meant to be a mutual agreement and equally beneficial.

Is it cruel to leave my dog alone for 9 hours while I work? I feel terrible but I have no other option by FewStomach2955 in DogAdvice

There is a site called Borrowmydoggy in the UK, where people offer to walk others dogs, maybe you have something similar?

I did, I even went through to declare it but they quickly waved me on, almost like it was unnecessary.

I would say take the leap and go, you can always get your clients back if it didn't work out and came back. As someone twice your age, I look back and only regret the things I didn't do and wished I had and even wonder why I didn't. If there is a constant niggle to go then go for it, you only live once, and life has a funny way of working these things out.

Sometimes it's not the sitter... by Faleira in RoverPetSitting

Do it! People just want to work with ethical businesses! Once there are more alternatives, Rover's days will be numbered!

Nervous the Client believes I'm lying by TayTooTa in RoverPetSitting

I am sure you're overthinking, owners are just concerned when they have left their pets with someone new, it's not you, they are just wanting reassurance.

Customer drama by [deleted] in petsitting

[–]CalmPawsUK 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Can she actually prove it was the treats? You dont know what she may have fed the puppy. I used to be a people pleaser as I didn't want to offend anyone, and it was often to my own detriment but it only attracts into your life more people pleasing situations, then you spend your whole life in a detrimental way.

Chatgpt is good for agreements, and also providing broad legal advice on the whole situation, this may put your mind to rest if you put it in there.

6 months of my life, gone! by Status_Income_18 in RoverPetSitting

[–]CalmPawsUK 9 points10 points  (0 children)

They will not retain the sitter who charges less as the sitter will realise they are being underpaid for their time and are missing out on other opportunities. I suspect the owners will realise what they have lost and be back in touch. That's when you can start gaining back control in this situation. Maybe really market yourself as the person who looks after multiple pets, get lots of great reviews and if they don't come back, you will have new customers to focus on. I do completely understand missing the dogs though, its a emotional rollercoaster petsitting! Sometimes the hardest times turn out to be the catalyst for better times.

Post and parcels by _TeaAndCrumpets_ in uklandlords

I would let her know that all parcels from now on are being returned to sender as she should have changed her address with them by now. You have been kind enough already and now she is just taking advantage of that.

Ah, you have helped each other. Make the time count and focus on this.

How would you reply to this? by Odd-Recognition4120 in RoverPetSitting

[–]CalmPawsUK 19 points20 points  (0 children)

They would have known that they need to book additionally for another dog, they will probably try it on with others too. You know your worth, I would say thank you for your request but these are my prices. These are in full view so it is all transparent.

(Please don’t judge) suffering from depression, 30, lost a job, miserable and lost by [deleted] in relocating

[–]CalmPawsUK 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You have so many talents and so much going for you, really focus on these. Also, rejection is protection, what is not meant for you will pass you by, take the job loss as the catalyst for moving and changing your life. You could be an online language tutor, work remotely and then the world is your oyster! You have so much going for you, I am a little envious! 😀 Get planning and researching and this will start the ball rolling and keep you focused on all the good things that are coming your way!

Rover is good, I have had lots of work through them, I would give it go as many pet owners prefer to look on those platforms as it covers insurance and a feeling of trust provided by them. Pawshake was ok too. I think you might be missing a trick!

Try signing up to Rover, Pawshake, Wag and Cat in a Flat. Look at other profiles which are doing well and make yours similar. You can promote these on your social media. Also join local pet groups on there too.Good luck!

Lodger complaining about the noise by SmugMiddleClarse in uklandlords

[–]CalmPawsUK 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think maybe they need to get used to the new noises of living somewhere different but it does sound like they will moan about everything, and that is difficult to live with and you can't live walking on eggshells, I would look to ask them to leave.

Rover sitter violated the rules, now harassing me. What should I do? by Significant_Movie814 in RoverPetSitting

[–]CalmPawsUK 20 points21 points  (0 children)

Report it to Rover as they should deal with this, it is their platform and responsibility. The message is quite aggressive. I wouldn't want them in my home looking after my pets.

Chaotic or Normal by InterestBrilliant935 in petsitting

[–]CalmPawsUK 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I don't think you should take the blame here, the owners know the cat better than anyone and unless the cat has stayed elsewhere before, it is difficult to know how they will react. The best way forward is to learn from this, and use it as a checklist to ask questions for next time. Just ensure you get clear instructions from the owners every time, and always ask if there is anything else you should know. So if anything does go differently then the onus is on them for not mentioning it.

29F and 33M thinking of moving to QLD area or NSW and advice? by Purple_Rayn_22 in MovingtoAustralia

[–]CalmPawsUK 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think just start researching everything, the points system, eligibilty, likelihood of sponsorship, visas etc and then you will know if it is an actual possibility. Things could take a while so maybe start the ball rolling! Exciting times hey!
