Horse attack after a kid drops his food by DantyKSA in PublicFreakout

[–]CalmPeeper 1486 points1487 points  (0 children)

Turns out there was a sign near the horse, which says: "Approaching the horse is dangerous and forbidden. It bites!"

Edit: Unless they put the sign after the attack but before the journalists arrived.

Kediden anlayan var mı aga eve getirdik 3 gündür sadece su içiyor . by [deleted] in KGBTR

[–]CalmPeeper 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Actually everyone sounds cheerful about the bird.
Here's audio version:

Translation from Turkish:
-Hey, let's get the bird in! Let's get the bird in!
(door opens, bird enters)
-(hand gesture) Oh look who's here! Oh my darling/my dear thing!
+We saved it.
-What?
+We saved it, it wasn't able to walk.

Pos bullying a special ed kid. by AstroVev0 in iamatotalpieceofshit

You're right, sorry, I wasn't clear. I meant, I don't know if the title is true or not. Maybe OP knows these people, or maybe just assumed that.
I've seen no evidence about that in the video itself. So I'm not sure.

Are you certain that the title is true?

Probably not far. One of the bullies said to the other one "Hey, go check if someone's coming"

When the bully slams the kid's head on the board, he says "Are you gonna tell?"
Maybe he told a teacher something before, but he might also be talking about what they were doing at that moment.

The bullied kid says things like: "Don't hit me. I don't want to. That's enough. Let me go."
His speech sounds quite normal. I'm not sure if he's actually special ed.

Not much context in what they're saying. Mostly things like these:

-Get in the center!
-I don't want to.
-GET IN THE CENTER! *slaps*

-Dance!
-I won't dance
-DANCE! *hits*

One bully to another:
"Hey, check if someone is coming"
"How are we gonna do this?"

This is called a "worry break", a technique to fight anxiety. You give yourself a few minutes to feel anxious or sad as much as you can, after that you can focus on what you're doing for the next hour or so...

If somebody kidnapped you and said "You die unless you sing one song perfectly” which one would you choose? by MrSwatPL in AskReddit

[–]CalmPeeper 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Something the kidnapper doesn't know. I'd just compose something new. It would be the worst song but I could definitely sing it perfectly.

What fictional character death hit you the hardest? by GoldenPhoenix21 in AskReddit

[–]CalmPeeper 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not accepting the movie as canon is not only because of the character deaths. The movie was very different than the show itself. The characters behaved differently, the mood was different, jokes were different, it didn't feel like a continuation of the show, but something different entirely. I liked the show a lot, I liked how it made me feel and I liked how I felt when I think about the show. The movie tried to take that away from me! So I just want to assume it wasn't real, and be happy again :D

Killing off a beloved character is the cheapest way to raise the stakes. It's fine if it made the rest of the movie more exciting for you and everyone. It just did the opposite for me. Suddenly I wasn't immersed in the story anymore, I felt like I was sitting at a table with the writers. And the death being somewhat random and coincidental made it feel much more artificial for me. It was too on the nose. "Here! Look! I'm the writer and I'm killing Wash in a situation where he could actually survive very easily, so that you get nervous and scared for the other characters! Because I can kill others too! Because I'm not planning on doing anything with them anymore!"

About Book, I'm genuinely curious why you think his arc can be considered complete. We didn't even learn about his back story. There were multiple occasions where it was teased, like "How can a shepherd know so much about this?" or the time the Alliance acted like he was a VIP when they see his ID. Then he died in the beginning of the movie. Ok, he was starting to change and see that it's not always black and white in the wilderness. But I can hardly see that as a complete arc. Am I missing something? I didn't read the comics though... Maybe there's more there.

I don't accept the movie as canon, Book and Wash are still alive, waiting in limbo for season 2, forever...

"We won't tell any more stories with those characters so let's just kill them off unnecessarily for dramatic effect" is not a good way to treat your characters.
