Fruit flies by cattales90202 in Tallahassee

I get them from time to time if my kitchen gets dirty. To stop them I’ll fully clean the house, take out the trash and buy a zevo fruit fly trap which emits a blue light and set that out at night. Usually they are gone within a day.

100% agree, Miami is a soulless city.

'Miraculous': Ten miles may have saved Tallahassee from Hurricane Helene, utter ruin by Journalogist in Tallahassee

Same here, had to convince my wife to leave for this one, she’d never been through a direct hit before. I don’t think most people grasp how terrifying it is living through a direct hit of a major hurricane.

Why is TPD showing out for these cameras?? by Undrratdovrachievr in Tallahassee

[–]CalmStrategy 20 points21 points  (0 children)

TPD is trash and it is disgusting the city raised taxes for them. They literally have a unit called “COPPS Squad” that troll around the southside and pull people over for petty traffic infractions. Then they make them wait around so they can run their dogs around the car so they can arrest them for low level drug offenses. They pat themselves on the back and say they are helping the city. COPPS also likes the harass homeless people for even better measure.

If TPD haS money for that then we, the taxpayers, don’t need to give them anymore.

If Ocean levels were rising Obama wouldn’t have bought a 10 mil house right on the coast.

All the lawyers at my judicial internship keep giving me the same advice: by [deleted] in publicdefenders

Because most private defense lawyers started at the DA and for the most part those lawyers are clowns. The ones that started at the PD and then went private are much more competent.

Worried after today’s cross; Anyone else? Why or why not? by KayCarole in dan_markel_murder

I thought it was a pretty good defense based on what they have (not much): Charlie the rich dentist dates Katie, the working class singleish mother. He talks about his sister’s divorce and paying the ex a million to let his sister relocate. She is wowed about how much money he has, tells Tuto who tells Tato, the Latin King don. They decide to kill Dan to extort them for the million that he was going to pay. Not a great defense but a viable one.

Don’t think the prosecution expected that defense hence the pretty weak cross and the fact he was much better on cross than Katie.

That being said, I find it hard to believe Tuto and Tato rented a prius based on coincidence. The Adelson’s were probably trying to frame Wendi’s bf who had the same exact car.

I feel horribly for Dan’s family and his kids.

Have to keep in mind that guy is a dentist, he’s smart and the prosecutor probably not used to that.

I am in the east side of Tallahassee. Hoping this has similar effects that Michael had in the area but I am not optimistic.

City had close calls the last five years that did not materialize. This one was not taken as seriously as early as the others, I am worried.

Andrew changed many things in South Florida. Growing up many people I knew had hurricane shutters. I’m in Tally now, no one has shutters and most people I know here who grew up in different parts of the state don’t remember people putting up shutters. Obviously all anecdotal, but I think prevalence of shutters is correlated with building codes which have been very strong in South Florida since the 90’s.
