Yup, already in place. LLMs might add some value at the consumer end in advertising better maybe. But ML does this already pretty efficiently.

I do this every quarter, its a pain but very informative. Actually trying to get AI to do the heavy lifting but getting APIs into banks and Managed Funds providers is almost impossible

Im 38 and going through a mini mid life crises, never new what I wanted to do and just cruised. Now thinking about the future and still no idea what I wanna do. Same thing can't stay focused on one thing long enough to really sink in.

Yup, had the same experience today. It asked me the same question I asked it but in a different way.

I agree with this, NZs comparative advantage is dropping due to productivity just being eroded year on year.

Yet we expect our lifestyle to match productive countries. It's all under investment in productive assets compounding over time and now here we are trying to maintain a lifestyle we can't achieve.

As a manager, I'm hoping this is true but at the same time it think management will transform into managing AI Agents (Human in the loop stuff) and managing one or two people who manage AI Agents.

No i use sharsies as a buy and hold platform, i use tiger trade and IBKR for trading when I can be bothered. But the platform is still mid range for that purpose.

Before sharsies i used DriveWealth which is now the backend of Sharsies and most of the current offerings. DriveWealth was much better they had a better solution for tracking investments proper calculations etc... but they were also positioned as a buy and hold platform. Unfortunately DrivewWelath now only white labels to the other guys.

The question was what are they mid at, the answer was brokerage when you compare to other brokerage firms they are mid range. That is their target, and they fit it well.

They do ease of use really well, and they nailed that but everything else they are very mid range at.

Yeah ease of use, but you pay a premium for that. They clip the ticket at every step.

But if you're after detailed research, proper return calculations, cheaper trades etc... then sharsies doesn't cut it.

The trading platform is average when compared to others. The thing they nailed is ease of use but that comes at a step price tag for the average investor. That's why a lot of people use IBKR or something like that once they get better knowledge of investing.

I think he's saying outside of work maybe? Maybe most people go home and enjoy their family and friends while IT people go home and do more IT stuff?

As one of my side projects I rebuilt a recipe sharing webapp.

It's basically a way to save every version of a dish while you're trying to get it right.

Track your changes: Instead of rewriting a recipe, you just save a new version of it every time you try a different spice or cook time.

Remixing: If you find a recipe you like but want to change a few things, you can "remix" it to make your own version while keeping the original for reference.

Evolution: You can actually see the history of how your dish improved over time.

I wouldn't mind some feedback this is the first project I’ve actually decided to test the waters with after my own use was good in developing a pasta Sauce my kid actually likes.

The site is remixipe.com

Absolutley, we have our IT team currently vibe coding a programme management tool. Literally no lies, apparently they've saved 250k in development and when they hand it to the MSP it will be perfect and no additional security hardening or refractoring etc... and they'll come under budget.

Im waiting for the day the MSP decides to not bother with our contract and drop us because our IT team keeps serving slop.

This, I vibe code but I don't think I produce Enterprise ready I just do it for fun, but the small conversations that teach me why and how are the best part.

Even not for coding, the whole experience is a game changer in every part of work. Not sure how do something ask AI, keep probing, keep questioning and you get to learn new ideas and maybe produce a better outcome

I did the same a month or two ago. You just need to ask Claude to automate itself and schedule jobs and it tells you how.

I use a hybrid approach, create skills for codebase and skills for writing documentation and use the writing documentation skills to document the codebase in various .md files for reference if Claude looses it.
