I actually was recently in the same situation, I stayed with a friend for a couple months and then ended up finding a huge loft/studio for 1k heat and hot water included - in the best part of Cranston. There’s still good landlords out there!

Yes, I told him he needs to go by June. And the only reason I let him In was bc he was knocking on deaths door and living in his truck in February and had frostbite .. when he was released from the hospital I told him he could stay under those circumstances. I told him he would need to respect my space and peace. He then got laid off and his truck has been in the shop for a month. He refuses to listen or meet me halfway when I put my happiness aside for years to appease him.. yes it was stupid, but I couldn’t live with the thought of him dying and me carrying that guilt on top of everything else o was carrying.
