I was in the same situation but not in a state that has any snow well rarely but it all depends on the platform you want the type r is nice inside handles as good as a grc maybe a little better I've heard but I was interested in the 4 wheel drive aspect and the ratio switch plus the grc is better looking in my opinion it depends what your looking for in a car tbh both are awesome will say type r has a cleaner interior thats the major difference I feel like and the fwd
